you want k-rod?
mets won't ask for much and will eat most of the contract, anything to get rid of his 17m option for next year
you can also get beltran too, but then something with value will have to be added in the trade ... like austin romine and some b level pitcher

why so negative all the time? It is very sad, but it is not potential down the drain. look at the history of the surgery, some guys, if not most come back even better.. because now the underlying problem is now fixed. I think he will be fine as will that strasburg kid..

jobs work ethic is something that will hold him back, he doesnt work that hard
btw, now that the joba rules failed, can the yanks FO stop babying new pitchers and just let them pitch?

With the pen already banged up, certainly not the news the Yanks were hoping BUT I say if Philip Hughes works his way back from dead arm to re-insert him into the pen where he was VERY effective. This season is already finished for Hughes, it's really more about trying to get his confidence back. If Soriano gets healthy and settles down, you have a 6 inning game for at least 3 of the 5 starts.

^ No. When Hughes comes back he starts. Whether at the majors or the minors (I dont know if he has options or not). This whole idea that we develop Major League Starters through the Major League Bullpen is probably why these guys are having arm trouble.

No, cause last season Philip Hughes pitched a full season and won 18 games. *shrug*
Yea, I get you but King Felix had some arm problems. strasburg blew out his arm. Neither started in the pen.
Obviously you FORGOT that Girardi was pissed that Joba came into camp out of shape. Plain and simple Joba doesn't like throwing days. Never did. He's always been a stubborn cat.
Now whether or not He has the motivation to come back and not be a sulking prospect that was highly tauted is another story.

I agree with all that regarding Joba.....just didnt see how that correlated to pushing Hughes back to the pen, kind of a finally 2-3 steps forward, 5 steps backwards if you get what I'm saying..

So much for the "Joba Rules". What a waste.
I remember when everybody was hyping up Joba. To see what he has become is disappointing to say the least.
