Yanks @ Chicago Cubs

What a difference a week makes. After being swept by Boston, the Yanks offense crushes the Indians & Rangers going 6-1. The Yanks have hit the high water mark of 9 games above .500. Meanwhile, the lovable losers of the country, The Chicago Cubs haven't won a world series in 103 years. The definition of futility never seemed to be as angsty as the Boston draught that was well over 80 yrs.
A reunion with ex-Yank Alfonso Soriano hitting .275 13HRs 29RBIs but .300 OBP who is getting 19M a season. Dunno if Cash-man would be interested in bringing in pop from the OF but wouldn't you feel comfortable with Soriano in LF?
Match ups:
Game 1: Garcia (5-5) vs Doug Davis (0-5)
Game 2: AJ "No run Support" Burnett (6-5) vs. Ryan Dumpster (5-5)
Game 3: CC Sabathia (8-4) vs. Randy Wells (1-1)
Yanks should be able to cream these suckas...Let's do it boys.

Actually, I remember in '86 when there were way more day games even for the Yanks.
Today, the emphasis is to put late games so you'll STAY and hopefully watch the West Coast cause let's face it, the Left coast doesn't generate the ratings like the East when it comes to MLB.
Freddy Garcia is turning into Freddy Krueger serving it up to the Cubbies. I can only hope the Yanks stop making a pitcher with a 5 ERA into Rick Sutcliffe in '84.

Where's Rappa's bull$hit now?
Ain't no such thing as ONE man being the total consummation of fault in baseball. Last I checked, it's 9 men in a line up. Let me double check that for the doubters. Let's see um, a first baseman, second baseman....catcher....
This team is going to struggle, it has definitive flaws and needs youth at more than one position. End of story.
But there are BRIGHT spots. That pen....looking good yes? The rotation still holding yes? Who misses Eiland? Didn't think so.
Yanks can still take two from three....the main goal is to tread water as guys come back from the DL. Believe in your team. Don't berate or single them out. Leave that for the miserable Knick fans who are like angry chimps that haven't been fed in a month.
As a Yankee fan, I dare you to do better.

The offense didn't show up, its a game of averages....everyone has their peaks and valleys... it was bound to happen after putting up 24 in back to back games.
It didn't help they played an extra inning game and then had to fly to chicago and play a day game? A lot of people forget about these things.
I'm not hating on the team at all...just think jeter shouldn't hit that high in the lineup. i have right to my own opinion and if you don't agree with it, go cry to someone ele.

Should Swisher, Martin/Cervelli, or even the blundering base running of Bret Gardner despite bringing his average up during what I call stat padding games? Sure man, I buy that Jeter is not the player he was (who doesn't) but not hitting in that line up? Have you see Teixiera's average? Is A-Rod going to finish with more than 30 hrs?
Btw it's not like Jeter's replacements are lighting it up after that short gasp of pop.
Hey, I get it. This reminds me of when Dave Checketts basically told Patrick Ewing to get out of town or accept whatever I give you. Similar to the treatment of Bernard King, Checketts believed no man is his own island. How's the Knicks family circus doing? How about no one has anything good to say about the Knicks organization?
I see similarities with Cashman's BS about this special farm of highly touted prospects. So highly touted that they brought up a 32 yr old. NO ONE wants to trade with the Yanks unless they empty out the farm for one measly player so I hope Cash's plan to do a gig similar to the Detroit Red Wings works.

Not a pretty win at all. Yanks were lucky to get an insurance run in the 9th because Rivera started off rocky. Lucky Soto doesn't do sacrifice bunts, which lead to the double play.

With a Sawx loss, the Yanks are one game in the loss column from being right with their rivals. CC takes the mound...
BTW looking back, there was some criticism when the Yanks lost a series in Detroit. As I predicted, the Tigers are not a bad team at all. Scherer and Verlander are pitching filth. Right now, all things staying the same...I fear Detroit before anything coming out of the West in a 5 game series.

with the way beckett is dominating, lester and beckett will be very hard to beat in the POs also

The Yanks will never meet the Red Sox in the opening round because of the rules that prevent playing two teams within the same division. Also you're over looking whether or not this team can get out of the first round. In a 5 game series you go your 2 best vs their 2 best...and it's any one's game.

Dammit, CC served one to Soriano...Cubs up 4-1 in the 3rd. Hope the Yanks brought their bats. Course, isn't this a pitcher the Yanks haven't seen before?

CC cant even contain the CHI hitters?
more is expected out of the ace, he has to be able to shut down these weak NL teams

Yanks pull within one run...
news breaks A-Rod has a shoulder strain? Geezus...look, give this guy some DH time. Yanks need his power. They don't need a .280 hitter who hits singles batting clean up.
BTW would you empty the farm system to get King Felix and Ichiro?
Oh and Hughes arm strength looks back. Could mean the end for Freddy Garcia once Colon comes back.

i dont see how the yanks can unload the farm
with arod going old and posada retiring, the yanks need a impact bat (montero).

FINALLY...Swisher hitting .238 connects with a homer! 7-4 Yanks. Let's bring home the W boys.
