If you're done second guessing a franchise that hasn't won a title in over 38 yrs, let's talk about the one true franchise that competes and has a chance of going beyond the opening round of the playoffs.

Despite power shortages, the Yanks rank second in runs, 10th in batting average, 3rd OBP%, and 2nd slugging %...the makeshift pitching is 10th ERA, WHIP, 7th lowest BAA.

The Yanks seem to have the youth in the farm to take this team further yet Cashman is reluctant. Why?

Match ups:

Burnett (7-5) vs Jimenez (2-7)

Sabathia (9-4) vs. Cook (0-2)

Nova (7-4) vs. Nicasio (2-1)
