Tampa Baked Rays with hot sauce @Yankees: Let's Do it Jetes!

Losing two out of three to the Indians, the Yanks finally come back home in a divisional battle with the Tampa Bay Rays. It's a test for the Yankees whose bullpen is cut to shreds. Worse, Mo's arm is barking. Translation: It's been hurting a while now. A-Rod is a singles hitter batting clean up. Of course, the battle over who should be lead off...
Jayson Stark was saying on 1050 Michael Kay that 4 other players outside of Jeter have hit 3,000 hits in 17 seasons:
1. Ty Cobb
2. Stan Musial
3. Hank Aaron
4. Roberto Clemente
Pretty exclusive company. Even more amazing he's the FIRST Yankee to have 3,000 hits and he's got a shot to do it at home. Much to digest but Girardi did it right, give Jeter lead off till he gets his record.

Ok, it's time to stop blaming Jeter as the problem in the order. He's got a double going 1-2. Guess what? it's only one of 4 hits off a sub .500 guy...and the Yanks are down by 5 runs. Wake up Yanks!

game over, yanks blew the early opportunities.. A-rod strikes out with runners on 1st and 3rd with one out and garndner does the same with runners in scoring postion with less than two outs as well.. blown opportunities early.. game over...
and we probably lose first place as well..

I'm so irritated right now. I gotta cool off before I come back and contribute. Total no-show in my opinion. There's something wrong with this team and it's not just age. It looks NOTHING like the team last year or even two years ago.

it is amazing when you are losing a few games, you get the other teams players making defensive plays as if their families lives were on the line.. really, these clowns...

Do you guys think the Yanks should have found a spotfor Nova? Alright, I plead guilty. I can't stand Mitre and can't believe he has a roster spot, this guy is atrocious.
Also, what is the harm in bringing in Montero for some at bats? It's painfully obvious A-rod is ailing. Teixiera is always going for the fences. Bring some youth and pop for some games. Doesn't have to be for even 50 games. I dunno man. When you have a vet team, fresh legs is so crucial.

Wisely Jeter and A-Rod ducked out of the All-Star game.

Probably one of the best ways to hit 3000. Turns out the guy that caught the ball just wanted to give it to the Yankees and the club just gave him suite seats for the rest of the season anyway. I'll be honest...even as a Yankee fan, there's a part of me that would want to auction it.

This is special. It STILL boogles my mind that no NY Yankee had ever hit 3,000 hits. Now, it's over...this team can FINALLY focus on the AL East race.

according to espn the guy who caught the ball
But Lopez will receive something anyway. He will get Legends tickets for Sunday afternoon's game as well as four season tickets for the rest of the season and throughout the playoffs.
Also, Lopez will get signed balls, jerseys and bats, and a chance to meet Jeter.
not too bad of a package

That's kind of a weak package imo, he could have made a killing if he held on to the ball haha. He's a good man though.

On a classy day, I thought that was a classy fan in this age of self-absorbed frauds who just want to profiteer for themselves.
Most important was the game winner. Going 5/5 against David Price was definitely special.
