did we trade the wrong guy. I am watching hughes do well in Arizona, maybe he is just a national league pitcher , but his stuff sure looks good. Good movement, good fastball(92-94) and I think he has a 12-3 record.

Hughes meanwhile is struggling with velocity, location and health issues...

did we trade the wrong guy? Heck even guys like jeff Karstens is doing well in the national league.. maybe hughes would be better off in the NL..

its the NL

kennedy is a 4/5 in the al east, and the yanks have plenty of those in the farm

but hughes is a bust considering what was supposed to be

I think the way kennedy looks, he could be a 3 in the east...

Jeff Karstens is 8-5 and a better ERA 2.83.

But no I don't think the Yanks traded the wrong man. Kennedy didn't like NYC at all. His confidence was flailing in 2008 when Cashman tried to make Hughes and Kennedy #4 and #5 in the rotation. Hughes got hurt and Kennedy was pounded by the press.

Honestly Kennedy would have never made it in NY. Not in this division and not with this media.

We didn't trade the right guy. I know that Hughes has had some issues although mostly freak injuries not related to his arm, but he was an all star last year and an 18 game winner at the age of 24. Anybody imagine Kennedy being an AL all-star? Unlikely but who knows. Hughes would look really, really good in the NL West.

Hughes has already shown what he is capable of doing, he is having a tough year they were ready to run Cole Hammels out of PHI on a rail two years ago. Phil has the stuff and the make up he just needs some luck on the injury front.
