LA Angelos of Analheim @ NY Yanks: Rumble in the Bronx

Can't wait for Jered Weaver to get his ass in a fight with our boys after the temper tantrum he threw against Detroit.
Yanks lost the series against Boston but they are still the third best team in MLB and not by a large margin. Tonight AJ Burnett must find his command and put behind the Yanks their 2 consecutive lesses to Boston...

Mo's human. Yes, one day that pitch will never cut...with 2 outs a foolish gambit by Grand street.
Makes me wonder...who is the heir to the Yanks anchor?

Nova proving why he's the Yanks best starter after CC.

Now, this is the guy you want to play Footsey as Cashman loves to do. He doesn't have overpowering heat but this kid understands the game of baseball by learning how to change speeds, hits his spots with command, and truly understands how to get guys out. He's not an ace or really a #3 but in this make shift rotation, he's the Yanks #2.
Oh btw that Jimenez guy Tamed those first place Tigers after getting over those game jitters against Texas....meanwhile, we can only hope CC finds his groove, AJ stops walking a boatload of batters, and Hughes becomes more consistent.

Don't know how I feel about this game...it's like we got out of it with the skin of our teeth.
Jimenez goes 8 last night against the Tigers, Colon goes 6 against the Angels...ok, it's on man. We'll which one of these two needs the pen to bail them out more. Bless Colon but I think he's just about spent.
Colon is clutch but where the hell did our power go? Teixiera has become the new Giambi with the shift and horrible average. Which Alex is coming back? The guy who could reach 700 homers or the singles hitter?

1) rivera is becoming real worrisome now
2) colon has been what we expected, he gives the team a chance to win, cant ask for more for a 1 million retread project
3) this O is inconsistent, montero needs to be given a chance

Don't be concerned about Mo himself....be concerned that the Pen is working almost HALF a game in 3 out of every 5 starts in back to back series. Go back to that Red Sox series thread, what is indicative of this...the Yanks don't score enough runs and the pen has to bail out Colon, Hughes, Burnett...
The pen is matching the length of these starters forcing Girardi to use an aging Mo more and more and more. Today was a perfect example. Mo had to be dragged back in for 2 outs.

I don't get why Colon was pulled after the 6th. Complain about him all you want but the guy really has been above average the whole year. 90 pitches after a 1-2-3 sixth, he should have been sent back out there.
Girardi baffles me. He won't pull AJ early, but he'll pull Colon. It's mind numbing, just look at AJ's stats after the 5th inning. He has a 2 era in the first 5 innings and a 8era after the 5th....
Does anyone know the yanks record since A-rod has been out?

Cause Girardi didn't want to depend on a pitcher whose power comes from his legs and still isn't healthy being down 0-2.
He hasn't gone more than 6 innings since July 24th. If he gets put on the DL again, the Yanks are in a HUGE mess because it puts every thing on Sabbathia and Nova....
AGAIN, don't know how much more you need to repeated wiffle ball pitcher...the Yanks pen IS their salvation. That was the game plan since the start of the season.
The problem is, there's a risk of burning out the pen before the playoffs start...
BTW I love the fact Robertson has supplanted Soriano in the Set up role. How do you like our 9 million a season 7th inning guy?

Then we better win the division cause he ain't getting that call in Fenway!

But it bears noting that if CC doesn't win the playoffs, the question is who will step up. Right now, it's clouded in mystery...
