Da Rey Reys @ Yanks: A team CC can beat

Post#1 » by Dr. Detfink » Fri Aug 12, 2011 8:43 pm

After the a##-whuppin' the Sawx delivered on CC Sabbathia, it's time to get back to the business of trying to win the division. And no matter what the head to heads say, the Yanks can win the AL East. It starts tonight...take care of business...

Sabbathia...Pharmcat's fav Philip Hughes....Freddy Krueger Garcia...

Normally I'd say CC is just having a bad stretch but I wonder is this guy telegraphing something?

CC with an 0-2 and a 6+ ERA matching up against Price.

Wow, Nick Swisher is a son of a ball player and I swear sometimes he has no idea what he's doing.

Thanks to Jorge Posada, the Yanks are ahead 2-0. They'll need more to win the day. For now, Hughes has them in check.

I see the Cubs laid on Carlos Zambrano 30 days without pay.

Hughes looked ok in the 4th. Rays took some good hacks against him but the defense held. If he can get through 6 innings, I'll be more than estatic.

Posada hits a home run and Cashman is like...let me keep Montero down in the minors even longer.

Meanwhile, A-rod looks ready to come back.

Let's hope he's got some homers against the Sawx.

Glad to see Posada rise from the dead for at least one game.

Hear about Scott Proctor getting a minor league contract? Haha...damn. Is his arm still attached after Torre abused the hell out of that guy.

I feel like the minor league contract was an apology for ruining his career.

Was at the game yesterday. Hughes looked good, looked like the ump missed a few calls for some strikeouts but he was mixing all day and the rays had no chance.

The only time they put something together was after the long inning where we put up a 5 spot that featured a pitching change and 5 walks. Gardner tried to make a hell of a play off damons liner and if he had either A) caught it or B) just played it off the wall, Hughes would have only given up 1run.

Hughes > Burnett in my opinion any day of the week.

PS - I'm still in shock posada went 3-4 but please god do not let him hit versus a lefty, it's unbearable! You can tell he's still a fan favorite as the place went wild every time he came up and especially after the grand slam.
