Yanks @ Feelin' Mini-Soda Twins: Thank you Schedule doctors!

Losing to Bruce Chen, a pitcher who remembers when Posada was called up to the Majors would put me in a downright nasty mood if it weren't for the fact that the Yanks are once again playing their playoff punching bag, Minnesota Twins...
Money Ball isn't about competition but salesman ship
Besides the fact MLB's richest owner (nope, it's not the Steinbrenners) continues to milk the hell out of dinged up icons like Justin Morneau, Joe Mauer...it's almost terrifying to think what the Twins would be like if they didn't trade away anyone who asked for a raise or parted with some of their prospects for that one vital cog to push them to a WS.
Yes, Brian Cashman...I am showing you EXACTLY what happens when a team puts their hands in the air and cries victim when they are counting their money in the back. The Twins are the A's of the 90s. They're done. They'll never reach the WS with Joe Mauer.
Why you shouldn't deal with the Devil even with over 200M to spend
OH btw for those who believed Cashman's STUPID plan of trying to trade for Pavano and punt him off to Toronto for prospects (seriously this is a DUMB plan if I ever heard of one).
Carl Pavano is 6-9 with a 4.52 ERA
And even BETTER...
Francisco Liriano is 8-9 with a 5.12 ERA which is WORSE than AJ Burnett...
Remember during Spring training/exhibition when the hot stove was talking about the Yanks trading for Liriano? The BEST part was the Twins weren't even interested in talking with CAshman. Can you imagine if Cashman gave in?
This is why I am not sold on Seattle's Hernandez because Seattle along with Minnesota, Oakland and Florida kills arms....
Speaking of Florida, recently I read Cashman was trying for Nolasco...and I wouldn't mind getting him if it weren't for the fact that the Yanks always seem to get fu#$ed by Florida: Pavano, Burnett...
Another team, the Braves...Javier Vasquez x2
I don't know what Cashman sees in Southern MLB franchises. Go with the North young man...
Playoff rotation preview?
Yanks are going CC, Hughes, Burnett Nova....
The prodigal douche returns
Lastly at least A-Rod will pad his stats....

Wow, Joe Mauer is playing the OF due to injuries to the Twins....
Jetes is RED HOT... *glares at the haters at the start of the season*
I really don't think the Yanks should rush A-rod back. That guy's body is fu$#ed and breaking down. Might as well just save him till late September so he'll be fresh for the playoffs. The Yanks don't need him to clinch a playoff spot.

CC with a SLOPPY fastball...if that was anyone from Tampa and Bos instead of a kid, it'd be a home run. Luckily Granderson gunned him down.
His slider is terrible...

MORNEAU takes CC deep...2-0 Twins.
I'm telling ya, cannot ride this guy cause in the second half we're seeing what happens...last year CC won 20 wins, it was nice but he was not his usual crisp self in the playoffs.
Don't understand why Cash won't bring up his kids for some pen work...
Edit: WOW, foul ball....LUCKY.

Nice, CC with two outs, men on third and first...blows one by Mauer 95mph then gets him to bit on a dribbler to Cano for the out.
He settled down but I really don't like how teams seem to have found a way to pounce on CC in the first few innings. Saw it in Boston and Tampa...Twins seemed almost poised to do so if not for instant replay.

I realize Joe is trying to save the pen (cause let's face it, it's been used heavily against Boston, Angels, KC) but you know you do yourself no favors burning out CC who should be saved after 6 innings. Instead, CC goes out for the 7th and Twins cuts a 4 run lead in half.
It's not anything to do with CC Sabbathia but more about managing arms. Again, I don't see what's the crime in skipping a start for CC, AJ, Colon or any of these guys periodically. for once, the Yanks have some arms in Garcia, Hughes, and Nova who can fill some innings.
Not saying do it consecutively but would rotate giving guys a rest as we drift closer to September. Last year the Yanks record in August was .500 and September was below .500... History will repeat itself if we do not learn from it.

i actually think CC struggles if he isnt on every 5th day
the thing with him is that they need to pull him after 6 instead of him going thru 7, pull him in 7 instead of going thru 8, etc
they need to trust the pen more

Oh Joe trusts the pen, problem Is...Burnett, Colon, Hughes burns it out. So he has to lean on Nova, Sabbathia, and Garcia to go 8 innings deep....

Philip Hughes takes the mound....in a bit to make one of the starting spots. For me, it's not a question of Hughes' stuff but his endurance. Kid seems to lose his focus after the second time around the order.

One of these days, Hughes will learn not to muscle it back inside after a guy fouls off the same pitch. He does not have the velocity to blow guys down like that....

Impressive start by Hughes. 7.2 innings 2 hits 1 run...most importantly he mixed his pitches better after he was taken deep.
Where do you have him?
I like him as a #3...with Colon fatigued and AJ a mystery.
The series against Oakland with A-rod back will be vital. Boston will be in a dog fight against Texas. Then Yanks and Boston tangle again...
So in the next two series, Yanks need to establish some wiggle room.

Still not convinced by Hughes but good game, he's earned himself a place back in the rotation. There is no reason that Burnett should still be starting.
So much for Jeter being finished.
Glad to see my boy Martin have a good offensive game.

im not convinced by hughes
simply b/c of the lack of swinging strikes
hes a #3 at best imo, which isnt bad if NY can find a #2 this OS

they should give arod ample time
the O is hot enough right now to give him a few days...imo another few days will really help him
