Yanks (37-25) @ Washington Gnats (38-23): Keep on Rockin'

Don't look now but the AL EAST LEADING...NY Yanks are at the high water mark of 12 games over .500 and could be on the verge of a big streak IF....IF they can dis-prove this season's TB Rays of the NL as pretenders to the throne. Yup, the Washington Nationals prove if you suck enough...and collect enough revenue checks that you'll finally be good...but HOW good?

Match ups:

Hughes (6-5) @ Gonzalez (8-2): Another BIG test for Hughes and Yanks offense...

Pettitte (3-2) @ Zimmerman (3-5): Can Andy keep it going?

Nova (8-2) @ Jackson (3-3): Hello again, Edwin...

Let's GO YANKS!

Yankees pull a break by not getting Strasburg.

I would love to see Strasburg. It's a measuring stick...

I predict we break our streak, and get a win in this series WITHOUT hitting a home run.

Granderson ruins the game. Would have been the first Yankee win of the season without a homerun.

Good win. Hughes 7-5. Yanks offense blows it open.

Offense turns it on without Cano.

My friend joked that the Yankees were still on thin ice before that HR.

one thing I noticed about hughes is his fastball mid 90's at times and great location.. guys just can't really square it up.. sometimes he leaves his curve hanging, but when he keeps it low, it is a nasty pitch..

i dont know how to read on hughes....it seems like he is getting by just on his fastball, is that really gonna work in the POs?

Hopefully Pettitte is right about Hughes tipping his pitches, something correctable. Speaking of Pettitte, ice water veins, rocky start...settles down makes adjustments and the Yanks are rallying.

Right now, Chavez>A-Rod.

Robertson pitched last night, wasn't sharp....and I am not a Wade fan.

Teix with the go-ahead 2-run double!

Why not let Garcia bunt there?
