LA Angels of whatever (48-38) @Yanks (52-33): Feels familiar

Might be a preview of the opening round...
Edit: 7th Kuroda and the Yanks folding like cheap suits.
First, bottom of the 6th, Granderson hits a triple after Trout misplays the field. Tex, A-Rod, and Cano can't bring him in. Once again, that RISP problem that treads danger come play off time.
Now, top of 7th...Kuroda gives up a long single to Pujols. Hits Morales on a 1-2 count.. Then 3 run bomb.
Now, A-rod misplays a ground ball. Man on second, 1 out.
This is why I am more comfortable with Kuroda as a #3 or #4. When he gets men on in a pressure situation, he crumbles BADLY. NOT a pressure pitcher...
and maybe...maybe the batter will make a mistake...maybe he'll get a call his way...but overall, he's a nibbler.

I'll take it. 8 games up over Balt. 20 games over .500. Jetes back to .310...imperfect squad but winning makes it seem moot so far...till playoff time.

Freddy "got Fingered" Garcia trying to last 5 innings. Granderson and Cano go yard and Yanks leading 4-3. Hope the pen can last because they have a VERY tight margin of error.

A-Rod hits a double that was almost a homer...but no worries, Cano brings him home. 5-3 Yanks. Eppley throws 2 scoreless innings.
Edit: Holy moses! LaTroy Hawkins makes an appearance!

Robertson looking MUCH more like his old self. All-Star break did him some good.

freddy labored but made it thru 5 and kept the lead, not more you can ask for out of him

Soriano executed back to back saves...Yanks are up 5-3 series vs Angels. So used to the Torre era where it would be a house of horrors.
Bless the pen that put in FOUR shut out innings.
Tomorrow, I don't think much of the pen will be available. This is where the Yanks need Joba.

Nova battling Weaver well through 5, all you can ask from the kid.

Yankees base running has been god awful. Insurance runs would have been nice.
Thanks Jeter, Arod and Cano for your stupid base running.

You know Nova had a crappy start when Itzuris and Aybar get homeruns.

He had to go to Qualls because he emptied the pen in the first two games, which were tight...this is what happens when you have two inning eaters like CC and Pettitte out of action.
Funny no one questioned Joe's use of the pen when the Yanks had to come from behind and the pen had to be perfect, the first two games.
It's fine. This is baseball, you get to the post season. After that, it's a crap shoot.
Hey look Nova had an off game. Weaver wasn't great either. Every pitcher has them. He'll be fine.
There is PLENTY of season left...
