Jeter should not Risk further Injury

A lot of talk about whether or not Jeter can make opening day. I say, this is a no-brainer. In 162 game season, NO WAY should the Captain risk missing more time. Going to already bet this injury is going to linger for at least half a season.
I say put Nunez at SS, sign Figgins (who was released) for nothing to man 3B, and put Youk at 1B...NOT exactly an All-Star infield but serviceable until the starters are back on some level.
Thoughts? SS options? ANYONE care to call up CAsh and say, he sucks for me?!

I agree. If this was the other ankle and not the one, you know, he just had surgically repaired then ya maybe let him work through it if he thinks he can. But since he just had surgery, sit him down, and call up the new Pope to bless it so it can recover fully. Those would be good infield moves too, could trade Cano for multiple pieces as well. Cash needs to man up and do his job.

Trading Granderson and Cano could have potentially setup their minores perfectively for a retool.

Jeter won't be back before May...I'm almost convinced he'll be out till late June. It's all about how a 38 year old body responds.
