Hard to gauge how Toronto made out with their trades over the last few years. Kyle Drabek has been injured. Morrow is great against the Yanks but otherwise a .500 pitcher. R.A. Dickey has been so-so (the Mets ROBBED them blind of prospects). Josh Johnson has been off to a rocky start. Jose Reyes is BACK to being injured.

Tonight, Andy Pettitte takes the mound...the ageless one has been nothing short of BRILLIANT. When he was signed, the Yanks thought of him as a #4 or #5. He's really #2 in a #3 slot. As the Yanks pitching has keep them in the games one wonders how the rotation will look IF Pineda can make the #4 slot stronger.

NOT giving up on this year's Yanks, certainly not blind enough to believe they are a WS contender. A LOT depends on Jeter and A-Rod...but this is a team that I feel could surprise some people for a Wild Card.

The patience of this order, since it can't bludgeon pitching is very enrouraging...bases loaded 2 walk in runs and Yanks go from being down 0-2 to leading 3-2. When's the last time you've seen the Yanks manufacture a run with Jason Nix executing a perfect SAC Bunt.

I'm amused that John "Chris Benoit" Gibbons is back with the Jays after his abusive ways with his players. They reloaded his team with millionaires, youth...not sure it's made him a better manager.

A tale of two players. Batista is YEARS from assaulting HR record pre-roid record. He's not a threat. However Edwin Encarnacion, a former Reds player who was capable of 30 Hrs and 30 steals has become Toronto's most effective hitter.

When Nova punched out Encarnacion, the gun read his pitch at 96 mpb. Hm. Unusual for that kid. Hope the gun is wrong because that's a sign of PEDs.

Logan and Phelps can't hold the lead. Jays RALLY 5-4.....
