Look at the Yankee averages:
Cano: .307
Soriano: .292
Rodriguez: .320
Granderson: .274
Yankees are playing .700 baseball and closing in on Oakland for the second wild card. There's only one problem, they will have to play .700 baseball the rest of the way as well.
4 game set against Toronto followed by Tampa, Baltimore, White Sox, Boston, and Baltimore. A LOT of ground can be covered if they do well against Tampa and Boston.
Now, here's the question can the offense carry this team up the charts?
Nova is starting to fall back onto that 8 hits but somehow gets out of a jam to give the Yanks a chance. What about Hughes? What about Sabbathia tipping his pitches? Pineda anyone?
A STEEP climb...but not impossible in this town.
