http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_ ... -all-costsSurpring comments by Levine but that's great to hear. Sounds like the team won't make any rash decisions and that the 189 line is still the plan. Maybe this team can be good again after they rebuild.

Exactly. I would be on board with talking tough with Scott Boras if it weren't for the fact, the Yanks got even older with importing Wells, Soriano...and like the Cat said, the front office has proven they CAN'T draft to save their lives over the last 13 yrs! Apparently the doctors can't tell if someone is damaged goods, see Pineda or whether or not they're fit for duty see: Teixiera, Jeter, Granderson.

YES! OMG thank you for reminding me about that. Now look, you get burned once on a Doctor's report. Ok, fine. TWICE on bad arms, look come on. You're the goddam GM of the NY Yankees. Do YOUR job.

http://baseball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ ... situation/Interesting development there as well, we know that won't go smoothly. Maybe Jeter relents and finally is willing to look at other positions.

This "rival Executive" is the reason why all other organizations are less successful than the NY Yankees. A bum ankle makes ANY player at ANY position less productive. That said, it would be stupid to humiliate a Captain during his last year of his contract and possibly last year of his career. Let's WAIT...let's stop with the BS of bringing Jeter back prematurely 4 times already. Let the man heal.
If this "rival Executive" has some brains, Short stop is LOW on the priority of problems with the Yanks:
1. The rotation is a mess. Sabbathia needs to stop tipping his pitches. Kuroda and Pettitte are not getting any younger. Michael Pineda. Is Carl Pavano Jr ever going to pitch? Or will Cashman re-sign Hughes on the cheap?
2. Who's the 2B? In 14 yrs you can count on one hand the number of players the Yanks can start. So Levine, that's the clown who talked tough about Jeter after his one subpar season...wants to talk tough on Cano who leads the Yanks in just about every category. Who's cheaper and more productive? No one.
3. NO A-Rod next season. Who is the 3B? Huge hole to fill.
4. WHO is closing? No Mo.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. Why Cashman DIDN'T start making changes when the Yanks were losing 7 games at midseason is beyond me. That was the perfect cover to make changes to the team. Now, he can't deal Hughes or Granderson for anything.
Front office is in disarray and Jeter is the LEAST of their problems.

Oh I agree, complete disarray. This team isn't going to look good for a while.
