"Within the industry there is a sense there will be a scapegoat or two for that, and that it will not be Girardi or GM Brian Cashman, who has a year left on his pact. Instead, two longtime organizational employees are perceived as most in peril: Damon Oppenheimer, who is in charge of the draft, and Mark Newman, who is in charge of development," writes Joel Sherman.

That's been my question for the better part of 13 yrs...

Again, DON'T hire a GM who is a suit but one that has actual experience as a scout. Billy Beane for all his hype has ZERO rings. Cash is lucky he had an owner who was always throwing money for star power.

missed on IFA (yu, ryu, cespedes, chapman, puig)
horrible picks (cito culver? LOL)
cant manage talent (see joba and phil)
finds gems in dumpster, lets them go then (ibanez and colon)

honestly, this FO seems to be interested in voiding arods contract then fielding a winning team

Just clean house (fire everyone) and bring in a new crew. Thad Levine or AJ Preller of the Rangers. Dave Dombrowski of the Tigers (if he doesn't take the commissioners job). John Copolella of the Braves. Michael Chernoff of the Indians. What's Billy Beane doing?

At least they got rid of that big fat waste of a paycheck in Billy Connors (VP of Player Personnel and the so-called organization pitching "guru") before this past season. Talk about useless. In fact under his watch there's been absolutely diddly squat in terms of pitchers or players being developed and, in fact, just about every pitching prospect they've had has been injury prone or just stagnated.

Has Aaron Judge even played this season at any rookie ball level? I know he was injured (just like about 85% of the rest of the Yankees top prospects).

My guess is that maybe the Yankees minor league clubs and the Knicks share the same training staff?

So how many compensation picks can the Yanks potentially get in the offseason for other teams signing their players? Yes, not that they'd know what to do with the picks.

Maybe the Yanks can get a chance to draft either Ti'Quan Forbes (SS-3B), Nick Gordon (SS-RHP) or Michael Gettys (OF)...high end projectable players with tools and skills.

I just dont trust this FO to make a good pick unless they get new guys in

whatever mechanism they are using doesnt seem to be working
