-you think a mish mash of over the hill injury prone(and they will get injured-check the sig)has beens is going to get something done?
If Sabathai is nothing more than a 3 or 4 you might not win 85 games.

-go Mets :-?

and this should be OT

Lets sign Jacoby, Tanaka, Beltran, Johnson and McCann but let Cano walk? That's where we draw the line? That's on some Dolan stuff.

You sign Cano, you probably don't get 3 of those guys (Tanaka, McCann, Ellsbury).

The NBA has a cap, it hasn't deterred teams from building super star squads. Nor has it made it more competitive. In fact, if you look at the Eastern Conference, the NBA is worse off than it was during the 90s.

Ask the NHL how the cap is working out? How many strikes have they had since? Like 2.

What ALL sports should do is, employ NON-Guaranteed contracts. That will keep the loud mouths bragging about getting paid "respect" will SHUT UP. That's why the NFL is the best/healthiest league with a cap.

For now, the bid to sign Tanaka doesn't count against the lux tax, which is $1 for every $2 spent. The owners VOTED against a cap in the last CBA. Because why wouldn't you make money OFF the big markets? You're FREE from being responsible.

As for the Yanks, Tanaka and Kuroda are a nice pair of front line starters with CC Sabbathia and Nova, a decent #3 and #4.

What can make this rotation stellar is IF....IF Pineda can stay healthy.

Non-Guaranteed contracts isn't gonna happen sadly. I think it would really help EVERY brand that's missing it, the NFL has it right.

JR would win the sixth man of the year award every season if this were to happen.
