30 years ago, Dave Winfield was arrested in Canada for killing a seagull when the bird was hit by the ball. Today, the Yanks are hoping no wildlife gets hurt as they try to get back to .500.

The first two games of the season reminded me a little of 2009 because every one seemed down that the Yankees couldn't destroy the Astros on command by a dozen runs each night. Baseball is a sport of patience. It's not something that walks in and automatically gives you an answer.

Think McCann is the key to both Teixeira and Soriano's respective seasons. His willingness to beat the shift on any given day already shows what he's willing to do on any given night.

The real mystery is whether or not Ellsbury is going to be the player that Cashman thinks he is, or is he the player the Red Saws saw his best days behind him and let him go. He was brought in to be the every day lead off guy. :crazy:

As for the rotation, anyone worried about CC? Thought Kuroda looked good despite not getting any support. Nova looked fine as well.

Teixeira hurts his hamstring...no matter, Ellsbury comes out hitting, Solarte drives in more runs! Tanaka solid start with only 2ERs and 6Ks!

Tanaka looks to be dominant.
7 IP, 2ER, 8 K, 94 pitches

Started out shaky, but dominated as innings went by including a 6 pitch inning lol Yankee fans should be excited.

tex defense will be missed if he's out for a while. I don't think they'll miss his striking out or rally killing pops out or ground outs

Teixeira BACK on the DL. Hamstring strain. Cashman better not close up the purse yet. Yanks are going to need a new SS, 1B, 2B in the very near future.

yeah, but he never seemed shook. even in the second with men on and the error by tex. he seemed poised. he also seems to be able to get strikeouts when in trouble, and more importantly get some quicker outs when his pitch count started to get run up.

0 walks and rarely fell behind. got all his pitches over for strikes. was really impressed.

im whatever with tex. he has really gone down the toilet even after the injury basically becoming nothing but a pull power hitter. we are better off moving on sooner rather then later

Damn, Yanks spoiled a great start by Pineda. Ellsbury 3 hits, Jeter 2 walks, and Solarte 2 more hits but again, Yanks can't drive in runs....

big reason our lineup sucks right now is jeter in the 2 hole and soriano isn't doing anything

play ichiro and move gardner up

I respectfully disagree. 3-5 are producing what again? Jeter just continues to get on base and milk counts so I dunno why anyone would hook him in his last season over a #4 OF if Ichiro continues to play well. See, too many OF who are contact hitters and the one HR threat, Soriano is batting zeroes. The bottom of that order is very vital. Don't over look it. Again, the RBI guys...they need to show up.

Jeter! 2 hits 8th place. Saw him be a little more aggressive at the plate and it paid off. I LIKE the concept of Gardner #1, Jeter #2, Ellsbury #3 A LOT more than Beltran in that third slot.

Again, the rookie 3B continues to turn heads. Solarte 1 hit, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and that's his lowest production so far. WHAT?!?! I was terrified Cashman was going to lure Youkalis back. Divine intervention.

As for CC, yea...this 6Ks and 4ERs is pretty much what you're going to get.

Is it me or has Shawn Kelley improved as a reliever? He's no closer but he's finally hitting those spots.
