I would say paul o Neil but he said that he's not interested i just hope that whoever takes over teaches these guys about situational hitting and that thay sometimes need to play small ball to win

Davis can be crossed off the list as he signed on to be the Red Sox new hitting coach.

There are reports that former Met favorite, Dave Magadan, is very high on the Yankees (and several other teams) list for hitting coach. He interviewed with the Yankees last week for the position (along with Davis). Magadan was a terrific hitter in his prime and was a very charismatic and intelligent guy. He definitely knows NY.
