One think I never quite understood was how the vast majority of hitting coaches were never productive...well...hitters...in the majors. Those that don't know, teach?

Why didn't they just give the job (or lead job) to Marcus Thames again? Thames was no Rod Carew but he actually had a major league career.

Speaking of Carew...

I remember once, it was one of the most memorable things I ever heard a player say at the time, Carew being asked how he could hit so well. Carew responded with that distinct accent of his, that the ball almost seemed like in slow motion when it was coming towards home plate. That's some seriously potent hand-eye reaction time right there.

i like this approach of 2 coaches....one works inside cages, other can work the field

Yanks shouldve done this earlier

As long as they could teach these guys to bunt, and to hit the ball to the opposite field than I guess that it's ok.
