Melky

He's starting off this season in Frye-like fashion. I don't think that I've seen him hit a ball hard all spring, and that includes both spring training and these first four games.

I just hope that Torre and Cashman have the patience to let him find his stroke.

Once he grabs that first hit I think he'll be fine. Torre knows his potential and Melky just needs to relax and grab that first hit.

He'll get to play more with Matsui and Damon battling injuries.

People jump onto player performance, for good and for bad, way too much early on in the season. Baseball hitters go on slumps and hot streaks on a regular basis, and when you start looking at 20 AB sample sizes, you get the wrong picture. You think A-Rod's really going to have a 1.500 OPS for the entire season? In the same vein, Melky will pick probably start hitting again soon.

That said, i'm not as convinced that Melky's heading to stardom as others seem to be. If he can repeat his OBP from last year and add a little more power, i'll be ecstatic.

Slow start. He'll catch fire. He's an easy .300 hitter.

Hey 3 for 4 tonight so maybe he's coming out of it. I'd still trade him and Clippard for Carl Crawford but here's to hoping for the best.

Why would Tampa Bay do this....maybe Baldelli but Crawford is easily the best player on that team, also they need pitching that is ready right now. Clippard is at least another year away

thats the problem we have had the last 4-5 years, we have trade all of our young players for players who have a big hype around them....we need to keep on playing small ball that was what got us those championship those last few years...
