Pavano needs TJ Surgery

Also, Carl Pavano's elbow is not getting any better. He cut his bullpen session short. ...

The Pavano news is bad. He had been throwing on the side, and got up on the mound on Sunday, but though the team kept saying he was getting better, he didn't seem so optimistic. He is going to see Dr. James Andrews in Alabama and may, in fact, need Tommy John surgery, which would finish him for this season and probably next season,too, possibly ending is career.

"It's getting ridiculous, the team needs me," Pavano said. "It's frustrating for all of us."

Please retire, Pavano.

Is it just me or did anybody else picture Pavano deliberately ramming his pitching shoulder against a brick wall over and over again when reading this article?

Nope. We have him long enough that he can give 100 interviews as a Yankee talking about how he will come back at the end of his deal, next year, and pitch better than ever. Then he will come back, pitch 4-5 games and then get signed by some other chump to some crazy deal. -Jitpal

Carl Pavano spoke after the game and is confused why the Yankees are insisting he visit Dr. Lewis Yocum in California on Wednesday.

According to Pavano, he has been told he has a ligament tear and needs Tommy John surgery.

Brian Cashman says only that the Yankees are getting additional opinions. But Joe Torre mentioned a throwing program the other day, so perhaps the Yankees are intent on trying to get something out of the Rajah of Rehab before he returns to the disabled list.

Cut your losses at this point. They chucked $39.95 million on this guy. Collect the insurance, let him have surgery and be done with him. It
