Ok its widely known that our bullpen has been over used. At the deadline Cashman will most likely target a fresh arm for the bullpen. Who do you think would be available?

Damaso Marte from the pirates is a lefty.
Scott Linebrink is an obvious choice.

With the Cardinals falling on hard times do you think they would give up a reliever for some prospects?? Havent look through their roster and dont follow them but they have to have some arms left over there.

Melky for M. Gonzalez? Gozalez is tearing it up in the NL right now.

Getting relievers is a tricky thing. The only teams that will trade you one at the deadline are teams that are out of it. Generally, teams that are out of it have weak bullpens. The ones that do have a quality arm or two are either overrated and/or overpriced because every single team that is in the playoff picture wants to add another arm or two. Just looking at us, I could totally see a bidding war between NY and Boston for relievers. It is going to happen. Over the winter where you could be dealing Melky for a quality arm you are looking to deal Melky and 2 decent prospects for the same arm. -Jitpal

Well we did get Chris Britton from the Orioles for Jaret Wright. He has 93ish mph fast ball but his complimentary stuff is so-so at best. However, last year he had a 3.35 era with the Orioles and I am pretty sure he has been closing at AAA. He came up once or twice but only pitched once for us. He would be one of the first relievers coming up when the roster expands or if we dealt one of our relievers. -Jitpal

I don't think the Marlins are going to trade a viable 27 yr old reliever with the following contract details:
2007-09: Near Minimum, 2010-12: Arb. Eligible
