It's Over Guys

Early shmerly. This team ain't waking up. Losing Sheff, and believe it or not, RJ have hurt us more than anyone wants to admit. As long as we're still in veteran mode, which we clearly are, we shouldn't have shed all those guys. Moose and Abreu are totally done. Giambi might be as well. Now it's a waste to even have Clemens come in - by the time he gets rolling (if he does at all), we'll be 10-15+ games out of the division AND wild card.
So, the sooner this is accepted, the easier it will be. This is a transitiion year. We need to develop Hughes well for the rest of the year, so we can put Wang and Hughes out as our top 2 next year. We need to drop vets like Abreu and Giambi, and get guys in here with some GRIT. This team has become SOOOOO MENTALLY SOFT. Disgusting. The only semblance of GRIT we have seen in the last 4 years is Melky last year. You can tell by peoples reaction to him that they are starved for it. This team is just not likeable this year...zero passion.

Hell no its not over yet
Yes its really damn frustrating right now and the team sucks monkey balls right now,but i just find it hard to believe that we will keep sucking like this
Im gonna say starting tomorrow we will drastically change things around.
This team will not become the Knicks (hopefully)

The yankees always make a late season run and make the playoffs.

It's not over yet. People forget that we were 36-36 in 2005 and then we went on an insane .700 streak to get to 95 wins. That's still within the realm of possibility.

See you next year man. I for one will be right here, sticking with this club through the ups and the downs.

How can you say Moose is done after a great start like today.
Also, how has dealing RJ hurt us? Our pitching has been phenominal over the last month or so. Our bats won't wake up.

me too but I also agree it's over. There are too many holes Damon at CF, Abreu in RF , Matsui in LF have to be the worst OF I've ever seen or experienced in my life. The bullpen is shot, Wang is our most consistant pitcher after Pettitte, Moose is done, Clemens 1 yr. and done, this just looks like a lifeless team for the first 8 innings and then they wake up too late. The manager is shot it's not Joe Torre no more he's GRANDPA JOE and he looks done. I'll still watch but dammit this year is going to hurt a bit.

You reap what you sow, you reap what you sow
BTW - the yankees ARE NOT entitled to a playoff appearance just because they are the yankees..

I did not see anyone state that they are...
Anyway, I agree about them being done. It just doesn't have the same feeling as it has over the last decade or so. Thank God they decided to rebuild the farm system so we at least have something to look forward to. I'll keep watching this season just to see Hughes develop if for nothing else.

Do you realize that they need to go 15-9 just to get to 36-36? Just to get to a position where a miracle can happen? Thats really like 2 miracles. 2005 was a tremendous regular season and something to be cherished. But it was a one of a kind. We won't see another like that for a while. That was like Bucky-Dent-esque. So, don't hold your breath on another one of those.
It's over, just face reality. I will still watch, but just for future development purposes. We might as well lock up Girardi now to make sure we get him. I do NOT want to see Donnie in charge. Love the guy but he's not manager material.

I've been waiting for the year when I believe that and it actually doesn't happen. I think I've encountered that year.

Same here.
Are you kidding me giving up on the Yankees this early??? We are the damn Yankees.
We will make a run and will make the playoffs, wild card or not.
It is not over... as less not for the Yankees.

I will never give up until we are mathematically out of the playoffs. Yea its a transitional year but that doesnt mean we wont put a serious run together.

Seriously, imagine if it was like '78 and Melky Cabrera or Wil Nieves smashes one well over the green monster against Papelbon in the bottom of the 11th. That would be sick. I would laugh so hard. -Jitpal

I love tat sayin "its not over until its over"
Moose did pitch good.
The Yankees have 2 get to playin great 2gather.
Its been rare that over offense and defense plays good 2gather, its been either our hittin is hittin well but we lose cuz of our pitchin or vice versa.

Sense
Of
Entitlement
The yankees are a poorly run organization that raped their minor leagues to obtain over valued and over paid players, and then they give out too much money to guys who don't have it any more.
You can't imagine how the rest of baseball fans are enjoying how bad the yankees are...and when steinbrenner does the stupid act of firing cashman and thinking he can quickly turn it around with cash and prospects, it's going to get even worse.
It's going to be more fun then watching the KNicks sucks year after year
