Sorry guys I'm at work, forgot about the game, still tired from last night...

Seems like the trade ideas have died down since this win streak started. No more Abooboo for Jonathan Sanchez talk.

Also, STILL...where you been? Is the winning getting to you? You have no one to rip? Come on enjoy this streak with me, please?

I'd still trade Moose for Sanchez and Lowry , and can we let Abreu continue to hit and possibly field a little better before we deem him untradeable

Mussina has won 242 games in his career. Sanchez and Lowry...in the words of Borat...Not sooo muuch (35). Abreu is a career .301 hitter and a 200 steal/200 HR guy. Lets give them some credit when its due dude instead of looking 5 years down the road. We're the New York Yankees, have a legit shot to win this yr with this roster. Why give up?

Lowry = younger has a 3.46 ERA, the guy in his last outing vs Toronto allowed only 2 ER, he would be a cheap steal 93 career games 32 wins compared to Mussina's 485 career games w/ 285 wins , yeh that was a fair comparison :-? , no one is saying to give up man, I'm saying keep your eyes open stop being too much a homer, if I can trade Moose before he crashes I would so would Cashman.

Cashman knows Moose is better than this, he's not going to trade him.

I SOO agree with you. I still don't feel Clippard should pitch any big game against big teams. THat being said, during the game yesterday, they mentioned how Igawa was looking nice in AAA but his changeup is still questionable. Not the Clippard is OK for a 5th starter, but we do have some AARP starters on this squad so I'm still gonna wait out. AND PLEASE LORD CAN WE SWEEP THOSE DAYUM METS!!!!!

3 out of Moose's starts this year can be classified as bad.

Sanchez's ERA has been below 5 a total of 3 times this year. not exactly what we need out of a reliever. His WHIP is also a solid 1.55 in 44 career games. Since when did we need another young pitcher? According to everyone we're set with Joba, Hughes, Clipp, Kennedy, etc for the next century or 3. There's only 25 players allowed on the roster at once. We have about 40 prospects I think I've heard about this season and each one is being touted as the next Clemens or Jeter/Manny two headed monster.

CMaff, thanks for the help.

Lowry has had some fantastic outings against the AL this year if you look at his game by game stats. Joba, Hughes, Clippard, Kennedy etc. are ALL RIGHT HANDED. We need a lefty in the starting rotation somewhere, we can't go to battle with all right handers. This year we at least have Pettitte who is a left handed starter, but next year and the years after? I want to sign Beurhle this winter because he is a left handed starter and actually good. His asking price will be astronomical, and somewhere in the Zito range and I don't think we should pay that much so I'd rather get Lowry. Plus we would also be getting Sanchez as the only real relief prospects we have that are ready are Britton and Ramerez, both also right handed. Sanchez is left handed and I don't feel comfortable going to battle with Henn, Villone and Myers as our lefties. Henn is ok, but he isn't a lights setup guy but rather a 6th/7th/long relief lefty. Sanchez can be a lights out left handed setup man or possibly even a closer in the future. The deal makes sense. -Jitpal

What, are we actually arguing that Lowry is better than Moose?

It's not even close. Moose is the better pitcher.

And a lefty is not essential in your rotation if all your righties are good.

Not over their careers, that would not be fair because Moose has been good over his career. It is about now and the future. Lowry is better now and will be better in the future. If you talk about having 5 right handed aces, sure, but in most cases it is good to have at least 1 lefty to break streaks and such. -Jitpal

Will be better in the future? Huh? The guy had a 4.74 ERA last year. He is unable to stay healthy. He walks too many guys and doesn't struck out enough either. Look at his peripherals and how exactly are they going to translate to the AL? He has 39 walks and 46 strikeouts. That's awful, and that tells you this year that there is going to be a correction in order for Noah Lowry.

Do you honestly expect Lowry to keep up his 3 ERA? I don't. It's going up.

Cmaff its ok, some guys just are infatuated with prospects. I mean guys can't pitch past 35 anymore. Just look at Roger Clemens, Tom Glavine, Greg maddux, David Wells, Curt Schilling, Mike Mussina, El Duque, etc.

You guys need to realize that we're the New York Yankees...we rebuild...we do not reload. We have the pitching in the minors now to help us down the road. Lowry wouldn't do crap for us this year. And if we need a lefty next year we can go out and sign Mark Buerhle. The guys won 100 games in his career and has proven himself in the postseason. We can pair him with Pettitte, Moose, Wang, and Hughes next year. Then let Moose walk and bring up Joba, Kennedy, or Clipard after next season.
