According to the wiretap Joe Girardi is the lead candidate to replace Sam Perlazzo in Baltimore. Girardi needs to work in the booth this year and then take over the Yankees next year. He shouldn't go to Baltimore. -Jitpal

Why would Joe Girardi go to that craphole in Baltimore and be Peter Angelos' bitch? He'll never win anything there, I don't care how good of a manager he is, that roster sucks.

If we learned anything from Joe Girardi last year in Florida, it is that he will be nobodies bitch. That said, I don't know if I like him as manager of The Yankees right now. I feel he's too close to guys like Jeter, Mo, Posada, Clemens, and Pettitte. He also played against many others. I know they would have his respect, but everyone says we need someone different then Torre. Girardi is the same, he would be a players manager. If we're going to make a change I like Bowa over Mattingly and Girardi.

Joe Girardi finished 78-84 in Florida. Wow, that's incredible. [/sarcasm]
He took a team with good talent and finished right where he should have. He doesn't have that same talent on the Orioles.

It really pisses me off that Tony Pena never gets the recognition he deserves I mean to be an AL manager of the year let alone w/ Kansas City

I would rather have Bowa than Tony Pena

Dude I understand you're of Spanish decent, and don't take me the wrong way here i'm not racist. but any time a hispanic is involved you pick him. Please let it be known that I am NOT RACIST MODS. I'm not trying to be a d-ick or anything here.
Uh oh here comes the rath.
EDIT: Nothing against Tony Pena. He makes our staff that much stronger.
Another thing on Girardi, yeah he took a bunch of no names and won 78 games. But they were hella talented no names. I think he's slightly overrated. I mean look at the young pitchers he had last year.

I'm not bringin' race in this I'm stating how Tony Pena is like the 5th or 6th option when he clearly can manage better than Bowa and Mattingly, I wouldn't put him over Girardi , Pena what he did w/ the 2003 KC Royals was remarkable w/ Ibanez,Beltran and Sweeny, his best pitcher was Darell May

, 2004 KC was gutted by their GM. it should not be dismissed especially w/ names like Mattingly who just doesn't have the credentials, when Bloomqvist was out and he didn't argue you saw too much of Joe Torre in him. Bowa is crazy basically just for show and he underachieved in Philly for awhile, he's Pinella w/o the game control.

I just hope we all agree that we don't need change. Let Torre finish out his contract. After the season we need the brass to sit down and discuss the future of the franchise. Torre won't be here much longer and we can't just have Girardi, Pena, Mattingly, and Bowa sitting around thinking they won't go somewhere if given the chance. I could see us extending Joe for a year or two longer and naming a successor like many college basketball programs have been doing. I know you guys alll think Joe is clueless but I really think he's a good manager. Yeah he had trouble at the beginning of the year but the players never lost confidence in him. Once the injuries played themselves out we started making a run. We've had a solid run lately and to think Joe hasn't played a part in it is crazy. These players could have quit on Joe and each other but they gutted it out and believe in each other. Joe may not be the best at managing situations, but there arent many better 'team' guys in the game
I really liked that KC team. They had a lot of solid players who had solid years. I'm glad you didn't jump down my throat. I mean I'm biased towards Irish guys and Ireland soccer. And overrate Connecticut athletes like Brad Ausmus, Chris Drury, Brian Leetch, Ray Allen, Richard Hamilton, Marcus Camby, etc. all the time

I agree we can't fire Torre now I just think let him walk after this season.

I like Girardi, but I'm fine with us "losing" him to Baltimore. He's better suited honing his craft than sitting in the booth.

I agree, and it's pretty obvious. I mean, come on, Jonathan Sanchez for Mike Mussina?

I liked this post wen i read it cuz ur one of da few who still believe in Joe.
I agree wit u on not makin big changes now because of the way the Yankees have been playin wen healthy, and i blame our past injuries on the losses we had.
We should let Torre manage the team and after the season is over, which will be at a New York Parade celebrating our championship on a float wit a cheerin A-Rod and the whole Yankee team and lets not forget the fans, we den will discuss Torre's contract and what other ways the Yankees can win championships.
But for now lets f'in play ball

Chill man no hard feelings. I don't want to start a fight here.

Your my boy here, no hard feelings at all. But did you watch Noah Lowry tonight? The guy walks too many and can't strike out guys. Mike Mussina, IMO, is better than he is.
