Anyone else tired of these Arod to play in _____ articles?

Post#1 » by Jitpal » Fri Jun 22, 2007 4:48 pm

Every single series, there is an article that Arod will play there next year. Angels, Cubs, White Sox and now the Giants. I'm sure I missed a bunch in there. First of all, no one is going to be interested in paying 30 million a year to him except the Yankees, no other team can afford to commit 25-33% of their payroll to one guy, no matter how good he is. Even if they do, they won't have enough left over to build a formidable team around him. Second of all, Why would Arod leave? He wanted to be loved he is now loved. He is going to win a few world series here, I'm thinking 2, but maybe more. Third, which other team can offer him to be holding team records with the likes of Ruth, DiMaggio, Mantle, etc. No other team can offer him all of those things. In the end, he might get an extension out of this whole opt-out non-sense but he isn't going anywhere. Anyone else tired of all these articles? -Jitpal

Sure the Yanks might be able to give him a 25-30m a year extension but if he doesn't want to play there he will take 20-25m elsewhere.

I think the possibility is very little.

If ARod was playin da way he was playin last year this year i would understand him leavin and be worried but it aint like that this year.

ARod loves New York even more and isnt gonna leave.

Its the fact that he could get 5 yrs added onto his current contract. His current deal is up after 3 more years. After that a team may only give him 5 years for 20 Million

If he opts out he could get 8 years for 25 million per.

Thats 5 mil extra

Money shouldnt be a thing for ARod, he makes plenty.

I think ARod rather have the New York Fame over money.
He makes enough as it is.
