Today is gonna be the first game i watch since the Giants series. The Yankees are boring now, it doesn't interest me any more, I rather watch Disney channel.
EDIT- Nevermind, I just seen the 1st inning and Abreu's hit in the 2nd inning, I changed the channel for Spongebob...

Wow Celtic, you are so jaded now. Ever since you went to Yankee stadium you want to trade everyone and blow it all up. Easy there. I never thought I would say this about the Yankees, we just do not have effective talent at quite a few positions. It would be one thing if they were grinders or high energy players in their place but they are disgruntled, over the hill, has-been stars. Their style and negativity is infecting the rest of the team. This team just isn't playing baseball. Yeah, they pitch and come up to bat and things but they aren't doing anything. When we were winning we are making things happen, stealing bags, hit and runs, bunting but now it is basically everyone sitting back and pretending to be at the home run derby but instead of batting practice fastballs they are getting nasty curves, sliders and changeups and they aren't hitting. It is getting ridiculous. (Rant Over) -Jitpal

There are 4 guys in this offense that have 'it' right now. Jeter, Arod, Jorge and Melky. The others are just going through the motions. I feel bad for Damon because he is clearly really hurting and needs to go on the DL, thing is who are we going to DH? Nieves? Please. As for the bullpen, those injuries at the beginning of the season really are taking their toll right now. Does anyone know when Steinbrenner is going to put an end to Torre's science experiment on how long its going to take Scott Proctor's arm to fall off. I feel bad for Phillips because he is just in over his head as an every day player. Matsui, Cano, and the artist formerly known as Bobby Abreu are just pathetic. What was with Matsui pulling up on that ball off the wall in left? Chad Curtis makes that play, we need more gamers around here. A team of gamers wins more games than a team of talented players.
Personally I think Cashman's the first to go because he convinced Steinbrenner to give him complete control. Second needs to be Abreu. Third needs to be Cano because we can get a quality arm while his value is still in the positive. Third is Torre and forth needs to be that jerk in left field.
I need a hug.

I agree with the "it" list as you put it. I'm not ready to deal Cano yet. I do think Abreu is having a negative influence on him this year, perhaps if you separate the two and stick Jeter or someone with Cano we might be able to right the ship. Cano has all the tools to be the best 2B in the league and one of the best hitters in the league. Only thing that really pisses me off about Cano is his day-game stats. They are terrible. I wonder why Torre doesn't stick Cairo at 2nd and give Cano a day off or a day to DH in some day games. It isn't like he really helps us out there in the day. Damon needs to go on the DL but with Giambi out it can't happen and even if we acquire a bat I find it hard to imagine we will have someone to stick in there especially if Giambi is going to be out for the rest of the season. Ideally, you acquire new corner outfielders while shipping out Abreu and stick Matsui at DH. Solves a lot of issues but having a major overhaul of the team midseason will be near impossible and might even be complete suicide. Think about it, right now we need new arms for the bullpen, new corner outfielders, backup catcher, a DH and a 1st baseman. That is a lot of holes. In the winter you can look to acquire Ichiro and Eric Byrnes for the OF and try to grab Nathan to setup Mo to solve most of our issues.
Sadly, I also think Cashman would be the first to leave, even though the majority of problems this year are not his fault. He acquired Vizcaino to fix the bullpen but he just lost his stuff here, he got Britton but he is stuck in AAA even though he has been lights out up here. He held on to Melky and it is paying dividends. Cano was a top 5 hitter in the majors and this year he can't crack .280. Abreu got on base nearly every time he went up to bat and this year he bunts because for some reason he can't get on base otherwise. Matsui has been reliable with 20-25 home runs 90ish RBIs and he is actually on pace to get close to those numbers but it very quiet. Arod his acquisition, is having one of the greatest years of any baseball player ever. His numbers are just ridiculous. We came into the season with a healthy Pavano, Wang, Pettitte and Moose. Then we had about a dozen guys who could fill in that 5th starter role and not a single one of them except Hughes could do it. A lot of them had great games but no consistency then everyone went down. Even the guys we had to fill in for injured starters went down. Guys like Rasner and Karstens who were solid for the 5th starter went down. A lot of this was out of his control but he is going to get the axe because he just had a lot of bad luck.
Torre needs to retire after this year and I don't see him coming back but we need to get the right guy here. Girardi needs to be brought in to put in a different voice. -Jitpal[/b]

I still hate Abreu.
And I couldn't agree more with the fact that he is having a negative affect on Robbi. I just dont get it, the guy is the son of a major leaguer you would think he would have some more respect for the game than the way he nonchalantly does everything.
