I know ...
Abreu
Arod
Posada
Rivera
clemens

Assuming We don't resign Abreu and clemens... Do we go after Johann Santana?

* Also what other big salaries will we be ridding in the upcoming years...
Is giambis contract soon to expire?
*Damons?

* I think we have to put the effort into resigning Arod,Posada, and Rivera... Hopefully we pay fair value for them and hopefully arod structures a plan so that we don't lose the rangers contribution of his salary... otherwise i could see him not here as well next year... although a big blow....

If clemens, arod, and abreus salaries come off this year (hopefully not arods) do you see us going after big names this offseason or conserving for when damon and giambis salaries also come off the books...

* I can see us making a run at johann next year and just him and then slimming payroll a little bit by not making any other big moves till giambi and damons salaries come off...

pavano is having a surgery to remove his pen-s, the yankees are trying to use this to void his contract on the basis that he longer qualify, to play on a mens league.

I think we gotta try to keep Arod... working out a deal w/ him so that they dont lose the rangers contribution to his salary.

and let clemens and abreu Walk...
Take that 32 M and invest in giving arod a couple extra million dollars in arods salary through an extension and signing johann santana

Next Years Staff Of
Santana
Wang
Hughes
Pettite
Moose as 5th starter

* Looks like the best staff in baseball
*

Then let
Pavano Moose giambi and farnsworth go the next year... take that 50 M and let it just come off the books...

then let damon walk... the next year and w/ all the money coming off the books we'll have more wiggle room to decide if we want to sign a big name guy here and there or just extend our young guys like wang cano hughes when the time comes

I highly doubt that Chamberlain will be an ace. I think Hughes is a great deal better than Chamberlain.

Joba's ceiling is an ace, he just isn't as close to being one as Hughes is...but no other prospect is so there is no shame in that. If Chamberlain's command improves, he would have to do something really stupid and screw up his career to not be an ace. He has a great chance to be an ace.

Brackman might need TJ Surgery, so let's hold off on the Big Unit comparisions, that's if he ever makes it to New York.
