Cairo DFAd, Bruney optioned to the minors

Cairo has been DFAd, and Giambi will take his spot on the 40 and 25 man roster. Bruney has been optioned to the minors (he still has options), and Joba takes his place.

Bruney will be back, I'm sure he just needs to work with his mechanics to start throwing strikes again.

Cairo DFA was a easy decision for the Yanks now hope Bruney can get his control and accuracy up and find the strike zone in games

Damn, sad to see Cairo go. He was very classy and was always ready to play when called upon. And he was an great guy off the bench and wasn't afraid to bunt or steal bases.
I guess Betemit can replace his 3rd, SS, 2nd base while Phillips can play 3rd, 2nd and 1st. But nobody can replace his bunting and base stealing.

Bruney has options and Farnsworth doesn't. I only hope Bruney works on his command and some how returns to the lights out Bruney from last year.

I kind of dont want Giambi to come back.We have been doing fine without him.Plus he cant play 1B so Melky will probably be back on the bench cause then Damon will probably be moved back to CF

Sad to see Cairo go and kind of confused as to why Bruney was sent down... DFA farnsworth or send brower down.....

It's not like there is a team out there that wants him and even if we did trade him we'd probably pay most or all of his salary. He's a detriment to the team if Torre keeps using him.
