Just read that on one of the comments on Peter Abraham's blog. The guy said he heard Gammons say it. Anyone else hear this or something? If he does come up what is the roster move, he isn't on the 40 to my understanding. Is an Igawa deal complete? Are we DFA-ing someone else? -Jitpal

Gammons basically said that Kennedy COULD start this week, so it sounded more like speculation than something he heard from a baseball official.
As for the 40 man roster move, we can DFA a number of people. Basak, Reese, Beam, and some other options. None are too important.

Speculation right now. Hopefully, it comes to fruition though. Starting Karstens is like giving the game away.

I believe Karstens is getting the start. From what I read (on rotoworld), Kennedy would only be called up if Karstens was needed in relief this weekend, which he was not. Also, Yahoo has Karstens listed as the starter. I really don't think of it as giving away the game either (though I'd agree Karstens blows, and Kennedy is the better choice), as Daniel Cabrera will be on the mound.
This isn't 100% official, but I think it is what is happening.

Yup, it looks like this is what will happen.

People need to realize Karstens isnt the pitchers hes been lately, hes better. He was hurt all year, and like all our pitchers who have been hurt this year, will need a couple appearances to be 100%. I also feel a lot more comfortable with him pitching at the stadium than in Baltimore.

I'd rather have Kei Igawa start. At least he has the ability to miss some bats. They both give up tons of home runs. Igawa atleast has some upside, Karstens will be lucky to ever be a major league longman. He sucks.

He won't do well for anybody else, his stuff sucks. He's the next Kris Wilson and Aaron Small. He's a career minor leaguer.
