Unlike Friday's game, they worked Hammel today and he's now out of the game in the 6th inning. The key to the D Rays is getting to their bullpen by working their pitchers and making them throw alot of pitches to tire them out.
We should win this game making the bullpen get 12 outs.

I have no problem with that move by Torre. It sucks what happened, but I'd take that risk everytime.

Teams are taking the Rays too lightly.
There is some serious talent down here.
This team will be making some noise by 2009.

Yeah, they have plenty of pitching talent. I mean, the great Andy Sonnastine and the great Josh Hammel should anchor that rotation for years to come.
Pathetic and gutless performance by the 2007 New York Yankees. They sweep the Red Sox and then get owned by the pathetic Devil Rays, making the Boston series irrelevant.

Sonnanstine, Jackson, Kazmir, and Shields are likely to have many strong years ahead of them. Each of them struggles with command, or a bad inning, but all of them are gaining confidence and better command rapidly.
The oldest starter is 24 or 25.
All of them have live arms, are durable, and are still learning how to pitch.
Hammel doesn't have the same outlook IMO.
All of this on a 23 million dollar payroll.
Here's hoping to a good pennant race again.
