Cleveland Indians

Pitchers:
Image
Chien-Ming Wang
19-7, 3.70 ERA
199.1 innings, 199 hits, 104 Ks, 59 BB, 9 HR allowed

Image
C.C. Sabathia
19-7, 3.21 ERA
241 innings, 238 hits, 209 Ks, 37 BB, 20 HR allowed

Lineups:

The Yankees swept the season series and have owned the Cleveland Indians for a while now. However, all of that goes out the window in a short series like this. The Indians haven't seen Wang this season, and the Yanks haven't seen Sabathia since 2004. In their careers, Wang is 2-1 with a 3.72 ERA against Cleveland, and Sabathia is 1-7 with a 7.13 ERA against the Yanks. But again, 7 of those starts were BEFORE 2004.

Here are their career stats against the opposing batters:

We can't take this team lightly but we got to go in with confidence.

Wang isn't a dominating pitcher so we have to hope he shows up for this one. I have a lot of confidence in him though.

I have a mid-term Thursday afternoon, so i'm praying to the baseball gods (and their barely-competent prophet, Bud) for a start time that's 4:00 or later.

(They tend to not put playoff games in 1:00 ET slots, right? I can't remember.)

I was watching the Padres-Rockies game, and boy...tbs sucks balls. The announcers sound like they're broadcasting a braves game in the afternoon half asleep..the whole setup doesn't have a playoff feel to it either imo. Hope the yankees game is better than this, but i doubt it.
