Joe: Meeting lasted about 20 minutes in Tampa. Offer did not change.

Joe: Toughest part of this process was waiting

Joe: There was no negotiation involved, although I was hoping there would be.

Joe: By reducing my salary, that told me they weren't happy with my job.

It appears to me that Cashman wanted him to stay, but ownership wouldn't budge on the offer. Cashman warned Joe about going to Tampa, telling him that his ownership wouldn't budge.

Joe wouldn't do the 2004 ALCS any differently, he would like a re-do on Game 2 of the ALDS this year though.

Pretty damning indictment of the suits.

He also said hes not ready to comment on whether or not he'd be willing to participate in any Yankee Stadium closing or '09 opening festivities.

Pretty damning indictment of how much Randy Levine hated Torre. If Cashman had his way, Torre would still be here.

Randy Levine is scum.

He said he has no opinion of Randy Levine because he doesn't deal with him, he deals with Brian.

Of course he has an opinion of Randy Levine, he just is too classy to say what he really feels.

I've seen you posting about Randy Levine a lot since this went down Cmaff, but how does this get taken off of Steinbrenner's shoulders? The guy has a penchant for firing managers, even ones considered as bulletproof as Joe. He's been implying Joe is getting the boot for the last two years now and above all, George has always been in charge of picking managers. I don't get how Levine somehow subverted that authority.

Well thats pretty obvious. My summary didn't exactly sum it up but the tone I wanted to convey was sarcasm because everyone with half a brain knows he has a clear opinion of that motherless c_nt.

I'll put it this way, if Steve Swindel was still involved with the Yankees, Joe Torre would the manager. I'm pretty sure Cmaff would agree.

Torre should've left on his own terms. Now there will always be bad blood between him and the organization. I am so angry at this franchise right now.
