Realistically, what #s from the dynasty will be retired?

I decided to make this thread because on nyyfans.com there is actually debate on whether or not Torre deserves to have his number retired.

The cast up for debate:

Jeter 2
Torre 6
Posada 20
O'Neill 21
Rivera 42
Pettitte 46
Williams 51

I think the least likely number to get retired is Pettitte followed by Posada. There's an argument being made in some circles that the Yankees retire too many numbers. In reality, the Yankees have retired 3 numbers in the past 20 years.

Interesting sidenote- If Jeter & Torre's numbers are retired then all the single digit numbers will have been retired (outside of 0, I guess).

Jeter 2 - no doubt he will be retired
Torre 6 - most definitely. joe felt slighted by the Yankee brass in the FO, which may delay this process
Posada 20 - he's still got a few years ahead of him. I don't put him at the same level as Jeter and Mo in the dynasty because he didn't play full-time until 1999. Right now he's on the outside looking in but if he signs a 3 year contract and performs well during that contract, I would say yes.
O'Neill 21 - no way
Rivera 42 - 100% chance
Pettitte 46 - No. He was a part of 4 world championships but after he left for Houston that ruined his chances.
Williams 51 - the toughest of the them all... I say yes, but I could see arguments otherwise.

One more thing, if Clemens is ever in Monument Park I will go crazy.

It is interesting that 21 has not been issued to any Yankee since Paulie retired.

& while I don't think he deserves it, I would not be surprised in the least if Clemens get his number retired simply because of his relationship with George.
