Jump for Bedard

Post#1 » by Sashobe » Mon Oct 29, 2007 6:27 pm

From the wiretap, it says that he can be dealt for everyday players. I say we should jump on it.

I'm sure they would want Cano but we cannot deal Cano. Do they want Matsui? I doubt they would want to face Bedard 4 times a year. Not happening. I think we have a higher chance of getting Johan over Bedard. -Jitpal

Not a very big fan of Bedard. Has he ever pitched 200 innings before? I'd much rather go the extra step and get Johan if it is possible.

Bedard is unrealistic for us. First off, we are in the same division, which lowers our chances immediately. Secondly, they want everyday players which we don't have. We cannot afford to trade Cano, and Melky isn't a big enough centerpiece of a trade to land an ace in his mid 20s. We would have to empty out the farm of whatever good position players we have of guys like Tabata.

I think I'd rather have Santana.

Why would the Orioles want to trade their best starter?
