Luis Vizciano is a B free agent. If we offer arbitration to Vizcaino and he leaves, we get a sandwich round pick for him (the round right after the first one).
Not really a surprise with any of this, but Arod, Abreu, Pettitte, Posada and Mo are all type A free agents. Which mean we would get 2 picks if they were signed by another team.
On a random note, Eric Gagne is a B.

I like it. I think Vizcaino might have been a borderline A but B is fine. Vizcaino is 1 pick and Arod is another 2. Making at least 4 for us next draft unless we sign a type A. I expect Abreu, Mo and Pettitte back. Posada maybe so we could have 4-6 draft picks. Very exciting.
cmaff do you know if Rowand is a type A? -Jitpal

I'm pretty sure Rowand will be a type A. Ehhhhh Vizcaino was almost a type A. We should look into signing type Bs, and non-types relievers.

I'm sure Rowand will be a type A free agent in this relatively weak free agent class, although it is deep with centerfielders. Type A free agents are the top 20% of each position, so maybe Rowand is borderline.
With the improvements in our scouting department and willingness to spend on high ceiling players in the draft in the past few seasons, 4-6 picks in the first 50 or so would be absolutely tremendous.
On a sidenote, I think it is funny that the best free agent starting pitcher this year (Carlos Silva) is NOT a type A or B free agent, and won't require any compensation. Shows how pathetic the free agent pitchers are this year.

Pretty hilarious that Mike Lowell has a higher rating than A-Rod, though they're both Type As.
These rankings are truly ridiculous. Mike Young is the best infielder in the AL. OK.
Alan Embree is a Type A? LOL.

Well Pettitte, Posada and Mo are all coming back. As much as I would like Abreu back on the cheap I wouldn't mind seeing him go if we got 2 very good draft picks for him. The prospects we get from those picks would probably be better than any of the prospects we could have recieved for him in trade at the deadline. I hope we don't lose Vizcaino. You can never have too many good relievers.

Type F free agent. You lose all your picks for being so stupid to even have an interest in the guy. On top of that, your club gets the hardest schedule in the game.

Heh, maybe he hated Boston and tried to sabotage them. Now that sounds like a Yankee.

What does he look like, Ramiro Mendoza? His arm slot was all messed up pitching in Boston. Either he was pressing way too hard or he was injured. Considering he had to take some time off in August and how crappy he pitched, he had to have been injured. Which sucks to have given up anything for him. I really shouldn't be surprised that he was a Type B but I bought into everyone saying that he would be a Type A. I should have known better. How the hell is Alan Embree a type A though? mahalo
