lets see: sell the farm for Miggy?

overpay and lose picks for lowell?

get scott rolen and his shot shoulder?

let betmit start? :roll:

with keeping arod, yanks lose no picks and no farm players....no harm done there...keeps us strong to go after cats like santana

keeping arod makes sense

Aside from the fact that we lose nothing by re-signing ARod, the most important thing here is that he is the best player in baseball. When you can get that person, you do so. Good thing the baseball people are running the Yankees and realize this.

Are you kidding me? Stop being a yankee fan then kid, you speak like your five I'm sorry if you have a problem watching the best player in baseball break the home-run record with supposedly your favorite team.

No reason to attack and curse

Who would you rather have to play 3B? Give me a name and a plan to acquire him. Before you say Miguel Cabrera keep in mind that we would be giving up Phil Hughes, Jose Tabata and more. -Jitpal

We don't need an all-world hitter playing 3B.

Lowell would've cost 4 years /$50+ mil plus two draft picks that would go to Boston. Miguel Cabrera would've cost our top prospects and probably Hughes. I do not trust Betemit to be our everyday 3B. I don't know what the other options were.

Well, it would be nice, but it's not neccessary. texiera is a free agent after this year and Cabrera is a free agent in two years.

I'd rather have Betemit at 3B over Arod.

Stop kidding yourself, you and I both know you'd rather have A-Rod then Betemit. Just saying that makes me lose respect for you..Tiexera could be a free agent but the odds of that aren't high since Atlanta has stated they plan to do all they can to re-sign him since they are getting alot of money freed from AJ departure..Cabrera is a possible FA in 2 years, hes most likely to be traded and most likely will sign a long-term deal with the team that trades for him. Betemit is a good utility man, he is no way an everyday player, I mean if he was don't you think LA would have started him at 3b?!

Signing ARod is okay I guess but paying him 27.5 mil a year for 10 years is pretty stupid. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

There is quite a lot of spotty relief pitching and fragile, ineffective starters you can overpay for with 275 mil dollars. Instead we will get 400 home runs with the ego and emotionally stability of a pop princess.

And you used to bring such good stuff to the table, where are you getting this stuff that you're using now?

I'm sorry, unless I see Arod take a drastic paycut I have absolutely no respect for him. He came running back here with his tail between his legs because he realized he and Boras miscalculated the market and that there wasn't a team who was going to give him as much as the Yankees would. If somebody ponied up $280 million, he would be out of here in a second. I don't believe for a second he wants to be a Yankee, he wants the biggest paycheck and the Yankees are the ones who will give it to him.

Betemit isn't that bad. I'll take the 750-800 OPS and superior defense from him over the $30-million-until-he-is-60-years-old Arod who always needs to be center of attention and becomes bigger than the team himself.

I'll have a hard time rooting for Arod next year if he's a Yankee. I hate to boo players, I've never done it before, but if he gives us another 2004 or 2006 year I'll boo him myself. Those years were pathetic compared to what we will be paying him. I want an MVP year from him year and year out until he is 40 or I'll continue booing him.

He's an ass, a douchebag, and I'll hold my nose when he's on the Yankees.

Let me rephrase that, I'd rather have a less productive but quiet Wilson Betemit over an always in the papers and always wants to be a center of attention Arod. Basically, I'm tired of this team being a circus, a broadway show... Arod is bigger than the team, and he wants it that way.
