although it was only to speed up recovery when injured. what's so wrong with using it if it can help players come back faster though?

just saw this myself....

Pettitte will always be loved in NY and it made perfect sense to come out the way he did...

it also helps that he said it "was a way to get back to a team that needed him" and if it was for recovery not to enhance his performance...

but if Clemens continues to deny he's a f'n idiot...just come clean...everyone knows he did it...

u cant continue to go on denying, especially after your BEST FRIEND admitted to his use...

if Pete Rose had just admitted to gambling on baseball a long time ago, he would have been let in to the Hall of Fame by now

Pettitte is one of the classiest athletes I've followed.....

Why should Clemens admit to using if there is no paper trail or evidence he did.

Does he really need an explanation beyond that?

Little link about HGH.

Basically, he took a drug with no evidence of increasing performance for healing purposes. A drug that was not banned by the league at the time.

The worst you can really say about Pettitte is that he stepped over a legally questionable boundary and possibly put his health at risk, neither of which has to do with what he does on the field. The fact that steroids and HGH are two very different things is getting overlooked in this whole debacle.

your gonna tell me hgh doesnt increase performance? for eveyr one of those articles, theres 100 on how they help you, just google it.. numerous players used HGH and beefed up bigtime from it, sh*t i know people who use it to beef up

Athletes looking for an edge inject high doses of synthetic HGH to increase muscle, shed fat and speed recuperation, but there are some very dangerous side effects.

Does that article ever cite anything saying HGH does actually increase performance? The doctors the writer talked to all seem concerned with its heavy usage and potential side effects. Not whether it actually does anything. Read the link I gave; it actually cites studies and the words of an exercise physiologist.

Athletes may be using HGH with the intention of enhancing performance, but there's no proof it does help. In Pettitte's case, the Mitchell Report specifically says he used it to try to recover from injury, not to gain an advantage. Just like he said himself.

Pettitte's not 100% morally clean here, but there's no evidence that he tried to cheat, which is all the witch hunters really seem to give a damn about.

Andy basically confirms the findings of the Mitchell Report...

I'm happy that one guy has the nuts and the dignity to admit to using these performance enhancers for once. He at least, stood up to media and fans and admitted that he was wrong in damaging the integrity of baseball.

Now, whether or not you believe him that he only injected himself twice for 2 days is another subject. But now Mitchell Report is factual and some of your cronies can no longer go around debating methodologies...

Good for Andy..

Well he must have only used it for two days because, according to your findings, it increases performances. He used it in August of 02 & in the playoffs he had a 12 ERA with only 3 innings of work.

I'm gonna quote the Slate article quoted within my blog link to make this a little clearer:

So far, no one has been able to connect the increase in lean body tissue caused by HGH with enhancement of athletic performance. Unlike steroids, growth hormone hasn

well using the argument hc yanks said that there no proof it works, theres also no proof when he used it.. just like justice claimed he used it prior to a 240 year.. all these guys with the same excuses/claims.. these guys have 0 pressure not to lie and all are saying they used them prior to garbage games/years -- whether its the truth or not, everyone is saying the same thing and its suspect at least

plus there are players who did use hgh and saw results

gagne
loduca
mathews jr
etc

then again they could have been on roids too but then theres the argument you guys used that the "snitch" would have told all

none of us know so theres no pt arguin
