This link has a story based off of the interview and a few clips of it. You didn't miss much. They took a brief tour of his home and he showed off his personal batting cage but the interview itself was a lot of retread. The only remotely interesting thing he said is that he hasn't spoken a word to Boras since he took over his own contract negotiations... and even that could have been reported before for all I know.

For some reason I just dont take anything he says seriously....he has zero credibility as far as I'm concerned.

is it possible to go one day without bashing the guy?

Why did they have Katie Couric do this interview. It sounds like she knows nothing about sports. "But Barry has an Asterisk by his name"

That was a big part of the problem. Couric/her producers seemed like they skimmed some New York Post archives and added some STEROIDS BONDS MITCHELL REPORT furor for good measure. I'm not sure a journalist more in-tune with ARod would have gotten more out of him, but it was half-assed.

Apparently sending Bob Simon out into a jungle in New Guinea for 10 days (the story before the interview) was just as easy.

don't you care that you're being played as a fan? Or do you buy his spiel about how he is truly happy to be a yankee again and its all boras's fault that he opted out in the first place?

the two of them are laughing at apathetic fans all the way to the bank

Agreed. He's a weasel. And he's such an awkward interview. Somebody needs to check his ear, make sure that Boras doesn't have a mic there feeding him canned lines

hmm. Seems he canned Boras for a guy who generally handles celebrities more than anything. Makes sense, since he'll probably never need to negotiate another baseball contract.

according to Peter Abraham, Boras is still his baseball agent but this new guy handles everything else.

I could care less if he "played" us as fans. We would've been played a lot more had he actually left NY, because he is irreplaceable. I also don't care how happy he is to be in pinstripes, all I know is that I'm happy with his .300/50/150 line from last season.

If the guy produces, I'm happy. He and Boras can laugh all day for all I care. My goal isn't for ARod to be happy as a Yankee, or for ARod to make $20 million instead of $30 million. My goal is to watch my team win a championship, and having him hit cleanup everyday increases those chances by a lot.
