i am sick of the poson's and the rasner's, enough is enough, for sake, we are the yankees, 250 million dollars spent, and we cant have a decent pitcing staff, we've got piceces to do a trade and dam cashman cant pull a trigger, another thing is we dont have a left reliever, for years now, remeber mike myers, ron villone, and billy traber, no dam lefty, how does he keep his job, because of prospects, why dont the yankees make him a scout then, if he is so good at prospects, but the prospects aka the kids havent done anything, yes Hughes had a good post-season, yes kenndy pitches 32 nice innings, yes chamberlain is dominant but c'mon, we should have all-stars comming of the bench...

oh well we pickup, games on them in the wildcard standings, so we still benefit...

Cashman didn't begin the overhaul of the farm system until about 2 years ago, you expect to see dividends being paid that quickly? The average minor leaguer probably takes an average of 4-5 years to reach the majors (assuming they are good, everyday players...some guys don't make it for 8 years if at all) and there are a select few special ones that make it in a year like Joba and Kennedy did.

I know its way too soon to talk about how good the 2006 draft was for us, but look at the potential in the names. Ian Kennedy, Joba Chamberlain, Zach McAllister, George, Kontos, Dellin Betances, Mark Melancon, Daniel McCutchen, David Robertson. That is in ONE draft, most teams don't even get that type of potential and production out of 5 drafts. Of those 8 players, 2 are always playing major roles on the major league team, one started the year in the rotation but got hurt, and 4 of the others are arguably top 10 prospects in the system. The results from what Cashman has done with the farm system won't be seen/known for a few more years and more of these guys reach the majors and the upper levels of the minors.

You can get on Cashman for a weak bench of a lack of lefty in the bullpen (which I think is overrated) but knocking him for the farm system is foolish.

Ponson has been a good pick-up so far. Finally, the real Yankees team is showing up.
