It says on Fox Sports on MSN that "Bruney (foot) will be recalled once he's able to pitch on back-to-back nights, the NY Newsday reports."
They speculate that he should be back this weekend against the Red Sox.

He is scheduled to pitch back to back tonight and tomorrow, so if all goes well he will be back here Friday for Boston I would think.

I don't think they will throw him into the fire in Boston. The rest of our bullpen is pitching pretty well so we shouldn't be desperate. We are talking about replacing the 12th pitcher on the roster. I would say Monday at the earliest. Plus, I figure they want to see if they can flip Hawkins to some NL team for some prospect or something before just waiving him. -Jitpal

I read on Abraham's blog last week that Girardi wanted to wait til his velocity was up. I guess its done that.
Let's go Bruney!

I agree, why cut Hawkins? He doesn't have that much money left on his contract and hes done after the year. We couldn't move him to a team in the NL for a middle of the road prospect? I would think he would have some value to a team looking for bullpen help for the stretch run that doesn't want to be on the hook for any money next year. Look to deal him and then bring up Bruney to replace him.
