Doesn't seem like enough.

Kemp is incredible, he is going to be a very good hitter. Only issue is looking at the deal long-term, and I don't see Lowe as a long-term fix here. Trading a player of Cano's caliber for a quick rotation fix isn't enough, although Kemp is promising. But there are hitters just like Kemp on the FA market every single season, there hasn't been a Cano on the open market in quite some time.

I like Kemp a lot and would love to get him. However I'd much rather have the young superstar 2B rather then the young superstar OFer. There are just more OFers available every year who come a lot closer to doing what Kemp does then there are 2B that do what Cano does.

And Lowe isn't enough of an incentive to make this deal.

I don't like it. Cano has proven he can handle the NY pressure, and is one of the best overall 2B in the game. There might be only 2-3 guys I'd take over him. There's probably about 15 OF's I take over Matt Kemp. Derek Lowe would be a nice addition this season, but we could find better starters in FA this offseason.

Its an interesting deal but not one I would make. Kemp is a damned good young outfielder and Derek Lowe has had success in the AL b4. But as people have said Cano plays a position that is more difficult to fill. I would hate to have to start Wilson Betemit at second for the rest of the year.
