Come on, CC. :)

Man thats a lot of money. Before 2007, Sabathia only threw 200 innings once, but in the past two seasons has gone over 250. But I don't think we are in a position to mess around and make the same mistake twice, go get the ace and lefty that we need any way possible. If he ends up accepting, a 3 headed monster of Sabathia/Wang/Joba can go up against anybody else's staff in baseball. And the back end won't be filled in with scrubs either.

yea, this cost us $$ and picks, but we have plenty of those anyways, right?

the key for me, is that CCs numbers were still there even thou despite being worked like a horse, i only saw a slight drop in arm angle, im confident he has good years left in him

the other key is if get CC, we can give Phil one full year in the minors to develop

pleeeeeeaaaassssseeeee happen

The Yankees are also said to be interested in making offers to Burnett and Lowe.

Just think about this for a minute

CC
Wang
Burnett
Joba
Lowe/Moose/Petitte

it doesn't get much better than that

They're not signing all three. My guess is they land CC and Burnett, re-sign Pettitte, and Moose retires. Lowe's probably headed back to Boston.

I'm all for CC. The Yankees obviously have money to throw around, and it's so hard to develop a guy who gets to that level of effectiveness that it's worth it to risk the big payday, even with the workload questions. Burnett i'm not so hot on since he has a very good chance of being Carl Pavano v. 2.0.

The only way I see him passing this offer up is if the Giants are willing to get involved.

i just was out and about and had some dude start a convo with me about this... seriously? who is really concerned that he wont take this offer? its 6/140m. and if for any reason someone wants to one up them. from what i read they are willing to offer more then the said 6/140m/ CC will be a yank come the end of the month

UT oh... just heard/read that Hal has been quoted as saying that his record setting offer to CC will have a deadline to be accepted before its pulled off the table...

Doesnt seem to smart to me to give an ultimatum to a guy the franchise has to have

According to reports today that's a good bet to happen.
