OT: Alex Rodriguez

Post#1 » by Appleshampoo » Thu Mar 5, 2009 1:28 am

He can stick needles in his butt
He can lie about what he stuck in his butt.
He can choke under pressure situations.
BUT don't diss Derek Jeter, the heart and soul of the Yankees. Honestly is he kidding? saying you'd love to have Jose Reyes on your team... He is a shortstop... YOUR CAPTAIN, YOUR FRANCHISE PLAYER, YOUR TEAM'S HERO, is a.....SHORTSTOP YOU MORON. This man just doesn't fit the mold of a Yankee. Bernie Williams is a Yankee, Paul O'neil is a Yankee, Derek Jeter is a yankee.. all forever Yankees. A-rod is a fool who is too talented for his own good. Their are many special players who will ever be remembered Yankees, If we don't get him out of town soon Arod will forever be remembered for cursing the Yankees for his entire 10 year ridiculous, opt-out in the middle of the world series attention whore contract. GET HIM OUT OF TOWN.

Jose Reyes has also played 2nd base. But of course, you didn't know this. And Jeter is the worst defensive shortstop in the league besides Hanley Ramirez. Jeter should be playing first or second.

A-Rod came to the Yankees as a shortstop too so what's your point.

The media blew this way out of proportion.

As a Mets fan, I think Jeter is overrated but is not the worst... just decent

no, statistically, besides hanley he is the worst. he has the worst range out of all the shortstops in the league. he used to have great range, but that has deteriorated the past couple of years. Hanley Ramirez is terrible though. He is so bad, that if he moved to the outfield, I am pretty sure he would be worse than Manny or Adam Dunn out there.

Reyes could easily play 2nd base and has before when Matsui was the SS for the mets. The problem would be that the only way to get Reyes on the yankees would be to trade A-rod for him.

i might be wrong but didn't a-roid said that he'd love to have reyes as his leadoff hitter??

jeter isn't a leadoff hitter.

besides how is he wrong, whenever reyes gets on base it's basically an automatic rbi for the batter.

edit: here's the quote

“I wish he was leading off on our team or playing on our team,”

he's not bashing jeter.
LOL Y U MAD THO?

"Derek Jeter is the worst defensive shortstop in the league."

Derek Jeter made the final out in the ALCS to send the Yankees to their first World Series since 1978
Derek Jeter notoriously pulled off the flip in game 3 of the ALDS
Derek Jeter hit a lead off homerun in Game 4 of the 2000 world series to put the momentum back in the Yankees hands.
Derek Jeter made "the dive" July 1st, 2004 versus the Sox and busted up his chin. A-rod should have made went for the ball but is too much of a pansy.
Derek Jeter has had sooooo many clutch hits for this team.
Derek Jeter is the heart and soul of the Yankees.
In a game 7 any manager in baseball is picking Jeter over Rollins, Reyes, Ramirez, etc.
Derek Jeter knows how to win. He's proved that. A-rod has proved that he will girlishly slap at the opponents glove in a big playoff game (red sox 04). Jeter has proven that he will get you the big hit.
If your a Yankee. YOU DON'T WISH FOR ANY OTHER SHORT STOP BUT THE HEART AND SOUL OF NEW YORK BASEBALL.

Some of you need to read the whole quote. He said he wants Jose Reyes' speed. Then he went on to say Gardner has that speed and that will be exciting. Chill out. -Jitpal
