ortega (who?) and AJ

Weaver and Andy

Palmer (who?) and CC

Saunders and Phil

err, angels are hurting, 3 of 4 would be nice

but they have our number, so a split possible

Ortega seems like an ok prospect, but the Yankees knocked around a much better one yesterday. Palmer's a minor league pitcher and i'll be pissed if they find a way to not win the Saturday game; I thought Sabathia looked fine the last start and just had a bit of rough luck. And I still think Saunders is a back-end starter. Weaver's looked pretty good to start out the year, so that game might be trouble, but the Yankees should be favored outright in the other three pitching matchups. And their lineup is particularly mediocre this year. No Vlad at the moment, Hunter's going to come back to Earth, Abreu's average will drop some, and Scoscia still refuses to start Mike Napoli full-time for God knows what reason.

I wasn't amazed by this Angels ballclub with a healthy rotation. With its current pitching staff, it looks like a 70-win team in any halfway decent division. It's time to rape and pillage this stupid ass team already.

Tex is a notoriously slow starter. Everyone knew coming into the year that he was going to start slow, so I dont understand why everybody still gets on him as much as they do. Booing Tex isn't going to suddenly make him hit .310.

I can't wait for A-Rod to get back. The lineup will look 100X better with him playing. The person who this affects most, at least IMO, is Tex. I expect a huge raise in average from Tex once A-Rod gets back.

The Yanks did a good job weathering the storm while A-Rod was out (which I didn't expect). NY is only 2 games behind BOS with their best hitter missing for the first 25-27 (by the time he gets back) games of the season. Gotta give credit to the players who stepped up, especially Cano. Glad to see he didn't wait until the all-star break to turn it on.

I don't get on Tex for getting off to a slow start. I've always thought of Texeira as one of the most overrated players in the league. He isn't worth the money we threw at him. I will always criticize that signing therefore I will always criticize him..

:( manny..
