Post#1 » by Pharmcat » Sun May 3, 2009 5:17 pm

good for you Joe

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4131450

there are more quotes and i expect that story to be updated

i personally like what he did, defending his player as much as he could which will make arod more happy....althou he only added more fuel to fire

perhaps a no comment wouldve been better lol

There is nothing Girardi could have said to not add fuel to the fire. If he doesn't defend Arod like he did, then the media would be all over him for not defending his players. If he said no comment they would be calling him naive and saying that he is in over his head. It's an awful situation the entire Yankee organization is in. No matter what happens they are damned.

That said, as a fan, I prefer what Girardi did. Something like that will resonate with the clubhouse and Arod. It's something Torre was good at, deflecting controversy from the team to himself. If Girardi can master that and the pitching struggles don't sink him early here, he will be an excellent manager for the Yankees in the coming years. -Jitpal

It's really getting tiring watching the Yankee organization and their fans continue to attack the messenger and not the message.

Are you seriously defending the media's nitpicking of ARod?

what message is there?

steroids? we got other users on our team

bad tipping? who cares?

sleeping around? almost all players do that

which just leaves the pitch tipping...which is serious charge, and if true, he should be tossed from the game....but its hard to prove

The media, and especially Selena Roberts, is just doing her job. That is to keep the public informed on pertinent matters related to our country's most famous celebrities athletes.

Indeed, how much Arod tips at Hooters is absolutely vital to every breathing soul in the world. -Jitpal

Interest how you take one small segment of the book and try to paint the book as "Arod's Life at Hooters".

No she got the steroid thing right. Great. She wants to write more about how he tipped pitches? Great, let's see some real proof. Without proof it's crap. I could easily sit here and say that I heard David Ortiz was on steroids and I would have exactly the same amount of proof. Nothing! -Jitpal
