melancon gets sent down, while veras and ramirez are still here....what more does melancon need to prove in the minors? give him time to adjust in the majors
steve jackson gets dfa, but not berrora? we dont need berrora now tat arod is back...ridicolous

Veras is out of options. K-Ram might be too, but not positive. Not saying I agree with Melancon being sent down, especially after he got so few opportunities to prove himself, but I'm guessing that was the rationale behind it.
The rationale behind Berroa staying up is that the Yankees are unsure if AROD can play 9 full innings back to back, and how he'll hold up. Yes, they'd still have Pena (which seems like a safe bet), but I think they're being overly cautious on it, and that's why Berroa remains on the big league roster.
What I want to understand is why Brett Tomko is rotting away in AAA, as the closer he's has a like 0.68 ERA. Could we not use this guy?

Steve Jackson gets DFA because he sucks. Berroa improves our bench. Have you seen our bench btw? It's putrid.
