would you trade betances for teagarden? (texas C prospect)

so the rangers have 3 catchers, Salty is the starter

Teagarden is a rookie and has really good skill, but he has had TJ surgery already....of course i know Texas wants a kings ransom for all their catchers as Bos failed to trade for em in last offseason

would you be willing to give up a package including top P prospect like betances to get back a C prospect?

we all know posada is going downhill, montero will outgrow the C spot

If it were as simple as dealing someone like Betances for Teagarden, the Red Sox would've already done in the offseason. Really, there's no perfect solution with catchers. At least right now Posada is still a productive hitter who can handle a good portion of the catching duties. After 2010, the team should have a better picture as to whether Montero or Romine will become the heir apparent to Posada. If it's looking bad in both cases, there's a certain Twins catcher that will be available if the Yankees are so inclined (and think he'll stay behind the plate long-term).

id trade someone like that for one of the three catchers texas has but as HC said if it were that easy teh soxs would of already had one of them. and Posoda will be around long enough for Mauer to take over if Cervelli/Montero/Romine dont pan out

i only mentioned teagarden cuz he would require the least amt in terms of prospects compared to other C on tex team

he is struggling with the bat, is 25, and has had TJ already
