Chien-Ming Wang seems to have forgot how to pitch, or he's still injured.

He has a solid fastball and great sinker. If he has confidence and control he should get back to being a 16-20 win pitcher again one day.

I agree but his speed has dropped which is either mechanics or has an injury they haven't let on about.

In the past he would throw 95mph and I would be surprised he didnt get more strikeouts on his fastball. I cant honestly say what is going on with him. Is it mental? Is it physical? I dont know.

Agreed, it's just been a sudden falloff you usually don't see a pitcher lose it so fast at his age. Some of it has to be mental.

Are you suggesting that he was on HGH before or that he should take HGH to get back on track?
His results were good today but he didn't have great control, velocity or sink. The Mets are fielding a AAA ball-club so he got through it. I wonder if he can do it against an AL team. -Jitpal

He didn't look very sharp at all tonight. Really never had a good feel for his sinker, and his defense made a lot of great plays behind him. It's a good thing you only need 4 pitchers for the postseason.

Who is the 4th guy? Wang has obviously been pretty ineffective all year. It doesn't look like the team wants to send Hughes down to keep him stretched out and he won't be able to start if he is coming out of the bullpen. Joba will be up against his innings limit, if he hasn't already surpassed it. There is speculation that Joba can't warm up quickly so you can't swap him with Hughes. CC, AJ and Pettitte are obviously your top 3. Who is that 4th starter? You almost have to use Wang.

They're out of their minds if they don't get Hughes back into a starting role in some capacity very soon, frankly.
It's too early to give up on Wang, though. I think he has been gradually improving even if he's not there yet.

I think the Yankees will find a way to skip a few of Joba's starts down the stretch to have him for the postseason if we make it, they can easily do it now with off days so it shouldn't be a problem later in the season.

1) fake injury - they just wanted to get him back on the DL so he can get more AAA time without having to DFA him
2) people were always weary of him, he never struck anyone out. letting batters make that much contact is not good. his success for having such an extremely low K/9 was unprecedented. especially with a very weak NYY defense, it was bound to catch up to him. Tex and Pay-Rod are our only above average defenders. Jeter has no range, Cano is average, Damon has looked terrible and has no arm at all (even in left), Gardner covers ground but has no arm, Melky above average arm, slightly below average range, Swisher has looked good and bad at times in the field. Guys are running off Posada.
