Does Cody Ransom have something on Joe Girardi?

I thought the ghosts of old Yankee stadium had moved to the new stadium on the day Cody Ransom pulled his quad. He was dreadful. It's one thing to be an anemic hitter but to bobble balls, he looked overwhelmed. It forced Joe Girardi to play Angel Berroa and Ramiro Pena. Both were decent plugs in the leaky left side of the infield till A-rod came back.

Today, Cody Ransom was plugged back into the line up giving A-Rod a day off. He helped joba's **** pitching against the Jays unload 5 unearned runs.

I gotta ask, why did Girardi continue to play Ransom when clearly he had better options to sub for A-Rod?

Does "Ransom" have pics of Girardi having animal erotica with a donkey?

I didn't even think the Yanks needed Hinske other than to sit Swisher's ass on the bench. Some people find his laid back manner refreshing, I think its a little too complacent especially in the field.

Hinske will play ahead of Ransom if there's a righty starting, but he's awful against lefties, so he didn't. That being said, I long for the days of Ramiro Pena off the bench (better with both bat and glove).

pena wasn't too good at 3B at the beginning of the season on the defensive side. Great SS, but out of place at 3B IMO

What's wrong with Swisher? He's streaky but he's better than the alternatives.

Pena should have the utility man role right now but the Yankees have this (Please Use More Appropriate Word) notion that he's their Chone Figgins and have him learning the outfield down in the minors. He's not a good enough hitter for that and won't really benefit from more regular playing time, so I hope he's back up here soon. Ransom just sucks all around and needs to be fired into the sun.

Besides the bone headed drops that Swisher committed in the Red Sox series, the sloppy base funning, and the fact he swings harder than Charlie Brown at balls out of the strike zone...um nothing I guess. Swisher is a great 4th outfielder, that's it.

Swisher's line right now .242/.367/.484. That's above average production even in the corner outfield. His mental gaffes on defense suck, but he compensates for it with his range. He's not a great defender, but the Yankees have rolled a lot worse out in right--like the guy playing there last year, for instance. You can make the argument that if he trends more toward his career averages, he should ideally be a fourth outfielder for a team like the Yankees. But regardless, Hinske's a platoon player at best, not an adequate replacement for Swish.

Abreu was awful last year, mostly because of his fear that the outfield wall would devour him. Is this really up for debate?

Swisher is light-years better than Abreu in the field, and that doesn't say a whole lot for Bobby.

As for Swish, he works the pitcher and gets on base....a lot. You'd like to see the average a little higher, but he's the definition of a grinder and brings a nice personality in the clubhouse to keep guys loose.

please, i dont remember abreu dropping balls like swish, he was afraid of the wall, ill give you that. but at least abreu had some sort of an arm.

No, really, his refusal to play balls near the wall right was killing his ability to play the field adequately... and he never had amazing range in the first place outside of maybe the early part of his career. You can take these with a grain of salt I guess, but plus minus had him as the second worst defensive right fielder in the majors last year only ahead of Brad Hawpe and other metrics like UZR hated him too.

In light of tonight's start at SS, Ransom has some good ransom on Joe
